I just experienced the Fable 2 Glitch loading glitch.

I have just recently begun playing Fable2 with a friend online but I'm sure this is just a coincidence as it seems the further I got in the game the more my Xbox struggled with the items, property and increasing amout of people on the screen at once and a crash/glitch was inevitable. Average progamming or average console, probably a bit of both.

I can load up my character fine, start playing the game fine and it seems (so far) to allow me to teleport travel to all the area's in the game.

I'm pretty far in the game, and own pretty much everything and I noticed right from the start with the slowness of everything to appear even without any items, the game seems to be pushing the xbox to its limit, a Square Enix starndard of game this is not, but it was great fun, so I put up with it and put in the hours.

Now if I try to enter certain areas by foot, Brightwood is one of them, the game does the loading screen and once the expected time taken to load has expired the screen just goes completly black and thats it, I cant do anything but restart again.

I've tried saving the game onto my Hard Drive incase it was a disk problem, no luck. I've seen all the posts on here already about this issue and no support seems to be available for it, seems any areas where there could be a help link are already taken up by adverts from Lionhead asking you to part with your money for the newest patch, something thankfully I didnt do and I dont think the game is worth starting again either way. My Xbox struggled to keep the game going at the best of times and if this is the stress a standard RPG put on the poor little thing I might just jump ship to PS3 and get a bit more power for my money.

All hope is lost to recover from this, the patch that was released last night did NOT fix this problem. I load to a black screen and the xbox freezes up still. Was going to buy knothole island if that was fixed, now i dont want to give them any more of my money.

Looks like i wont be buying any more of lionhead games.

Having a problem similar to this, I beat the game, got some really nice legendary wepons, TONS of gold, finished nearly every side quest. And then I log in to play fable 2 today and my game crashes as the load screen every time I try to load up my hero. I have tried literally everything in the book. I can understand a company having a bad egg for a game, but not even attempting to address it is unacceptable.

...............And the replacement disc and new savegame has gone into melt down too. Think I'm done with this. I'll wait for the PC version.

i am having the same problem when trying to load Westcliff, it starts to load then when it should be done loading the screen goes black and that is it. I let it stay blank for about how long it took to get signed up to the website and write this message. I can load the cave with the Balvarines but i can't load anything else in westcliff. Any ideas people. I'm really pissed off sincei just got my XBOX 360 back for the second time this year. I'm starting to see how crappy this can be. I never had so many issues with a system. Even my first NES worke better.

Found it in the blog section. Patch expected mid-December apparently, whether it fixes all the probs people are having we will have to wait and see...

well I plumped for a replacement disc from the ASDA I bought it from. Played it for 6 hours straight last night and so far so . Save game is fine an up until now there has been no freezing/grinding/scratching.

You should maybe all try a replacement if you can. I was assured by the staff at ASDA that I could return the new disc if tht too began to misbehave.

I recently experienced this. Can't load/save/play it at all now. A few minor scratches have appeared since I bought it and before the game would freeze I would frequently get a horrific grinding noise and then silence from the 360. Every single other game in my collection of around 15 or so works fine and always have. I've never had anything even remotely like this happen in 20 years of gaming.

I phoned Lionhead to mention this to them the lass on reception was aware of the problem because of these forums - so the do read them! She said simply that they are looking into it.

Any warranty is handled by Microsoft and the only option they gave me was console repair (£60 and not needed) or disc replacement (£10 and not even a consideration) just not sure that another disc will help; it's not like I'm alone is it?

Hmmm... This reminds me of a problem I had in rogue galaxy on the PS2. After some research, I found out that the disc was double layered, and could only be read by newer PS2s. Anyone know if the 360 has undergone any hardware changes to the DVD drive?

Well, I read on Kotaku that they contacted Lionhead and they are saying that they will be releasing a patch soon to address the bugs. I just hope this lockup issue is highest on the list because my game is completely un-playable. I paid $60 to watch the Lionhead logo come up and then have the game lock up.

the biggest disappoint so far is that the lionhead people have not said one word on if there going to fix this bug or what they might do to help gamers that lost there saves

I am sorry, but a new disk won't do anything. I know of a lot of people that tried second disks, and it still failed. I have the same problem, except the freezes are more like a "oh I think I will freeze now." It can be anywhere from 10 mins, to 2 hours. Nothing has worked, no patch, no cache...This is a bug, not a hardware problem, so only a new patch will fix this.

I bought my copy at Gamestop a few days ago, and when I first started it up (my Xbox isn't online), it asked to do a patch. I went ahead and ok'd it, and I've had no real problems. I'm done with 98 percent of the quests, the main quest, own just about all real estate, and I've maxed out my abilities. The only glitches I noticed are the things like getting stuck behind doors, or in a corner with your dog or a person blocking you, that sort of thing. Although, even after buying a few houses, I can't open the back doors.

Did any of you guys with the game breaking bugs get asked to patch the game immediately on startup? Do I have the same version as you guys, or is this a newer release where they've fixed this crap?
