Where can I download the patch/bonus creatures for the creature breeder quest? Also, where can I download the extreme growth skirmish map, and is it safe to install? I don't want to install anything that will make my game not work properly.

hey there,

does anybody know where the image from the black and white cover art comes from? you know, the dragon seemingly coming out from the head of a horned man? i have it as part of a tattoo just because i thought it looked kinda cool but i reckon it must be an ancient symbol? to me it looks kinda Nordic, but i have tried for years to find out for sure. I even contacted Lionhead studios themselves trying to find out but they never got back to me. Would be very grateful if anyone can enlighten me. Cheers.

I've been playing in various places, skirmish games, various storyline lands, etc, and I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and it kept doing it.

When I cast the healing miracle, whether it be on my worshipers or on a village I'm trying to take over, I keep getting one of the two consciences telling me that what I just did was ... Is this a bug or something? Healing is supposed to be I thought...

It's B&W without CI, patched to 1.20 if that helps any.

Can't bring B&W to work on vista!

Hi Guys!
Following problem: If i try to run B&W without patch i have this strange graphic bug; everything is showed in black/green.

If i install patch 1.3 the doesnt start at all, i get this error description: P5DLL.dll not found.

Compatibility Mode didnt help either!

Any suggestions?

I tryed to run Black and White On windows 7 , but there was problem with the frame rate on windows xp there was no such problem and the sound stoped , I tryed to use Compatibility mode to run it like Windows XP SP3 with Disabled visual thenes , dusabled desktop composition , disabled display scaling on high DPI settings and I run it like administrator , but the problem stays.

Recently I've saved my game on land 2- I have 2 saved games - one on the 1st land and the other on the 2nd land.

One day, when I was trying to load the saved game on the 2nd land it appeared as I was starting the game for the first time!
This is always happening when I try to load it..

I can't load it!

Could u please help me?

Will a patch fix the problem?

Hello all! I apologize for my long explanation, but the more you know the better the help I get, I believe.

I'm going to start with the basics. I just bought Black and White Deluxe (w/ Creature Isle) because I needed a game for my new laptop, and I remembered how much I love Black and White, so I bought it. I played it for a while and all was peachy keen. I soon found out that my CD had a patch for v1.100 on it, so I patched the game. Then I got curious and found more patches. Anyway, I patched the game all the way up to 1.3, but for some reason, when I patched 1.3, it didn't give me the p5dll.dll, so I had to go download it. Well, after I downloaded it and played with v1.3, the game ran kinda sloppy. I don't know if it was my dll that I downloaded or what, so I decided I would uninstall it and play with the files given to me. So, I uninstalled the game, and deleted the entire Lionhead Studios Ltd folder. Then I reinstalled the game. I figured I would use the patch on the CD because it was given to me. Well, the game ran great for quite a while, up until I had to pick my creature. When the choices came, the tiger was gone. Only the ape and cow were there. I wanted the tiger. Well, I chose the Ape anyway.
I absolutely hate cheating in a game mind you, but I really wanted the tiger and it wasn't there. I remember my brother using a program that allowed you to edit and change your creature.
Well, I found and downloaded this program and only changed my cretaure to the tiger. I did ABSOLUTELY nothing else. This program has NEVER screwed my brother up when he played, but I guess when I get on a game and do something like this it does.
Well, I started the game back up, and yup, I had the tiger. the game played great once more, and I was content. That is, until I saw Nemesis' creature. He was a bear (I assume that is what shows up when one chooses the ape?). Well, he was glitchy. He kept disappearing and reappearing. Especially when he walked. I was able to do the first story scroll with him and take control of the village, but when the time to fight him came, things got STRANGE.
Like I said, I could only see him at some points. So during the fight he disappeared, and when I tried to click on him, i got zoomed in really far and my creature disappeared. So I restarted the game. When it loaded back up, I was zoomed really close to water and unable to move, and the bear was telling me to make a combo attack on him or whatever. So I decided to start a new game. I chose the option to skip all the tutorial bullcrap. So it brought me back to creature select and the tiger was available again! Yay! So I picked the tiger and went through the vortex. The game froze up when Khazar tried to put down the Village Totem, so I closed it and started it back up. It took a few tries, because the game would bring up the black screen with the emblem guys on it, then a white box that said LIONHEAD would appear, and I would get an error message telling me that "lh has stopped working" and that "windows is trying to find a solution to the problem".
It does that quite frequently and when the game does finally load up it is slow as can be.
I am running Windows Vista with service pack 1 (time for an upgrade? lol). I have well over the needed requirements for thne game. WELL over. I have the 64-bit version of the Operating System. I AM running the game with the administrative rights thinggy and I am running it in compatibility for Windows 98/ME.
If there is any other needed info, I will be glad to share it.

I've had the original Black&White for ages, in fact I remember pre-ordering it. But only recently have I become curious about the music. Is there anyway to get the tunes/ tracks/ sounds off the computer or cd? As I've already tried to find them on the Internet with no luck.

Graphical Issue

Ive found kind of an issue with my B&W game, ive installed it and now when i zoom in too close to the land the land texture seems to distort and stretch until i zoom back out. I was wondering if anyone knew if theres a way to fix it. Searching for "Black and white graphics issue" seems to give nothing but camera or poetry results

For anyone that can help ive already tried the following:
-running it in different compatabilities
-installing all the latest patches
-checking the minimum requirements

My theory is that maybe the graphics cards are too new for the game (ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2) and i am running it on windows XP

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

ugh. i used to absolutely adore this game. i installed it on my old computer and that one got a virus and crashed. so, i got a new computer, tried to re-install it and its asking me for the registration numbers. i lost the box and now i can't play anymore. any suggestions. =/

Graphical Problems - Land morphing

My game has these strange graphical problems. The land keeps morphing, it looks kinda like quicksand. I don't think I've tried to play B&W again since I had upgraded my computer, but on my crappy old one everything was just fine.

My graphics card is an ASUS EAH3650. Drivers are up to date and all.

Well, any ideas?

Ok I bought a CD of the original Black and White. I installed the game. I then installed patch 1.10. After this, I installed patch 1.20. Next, I installed the 4 bonus creatures. Finally, I installed the village banter and the soccer-field add-ons.

NOW, my problem is that I can't get the soccer field add-on to work. I start a game on a skirmish map. I choose the one with 1 god to play against. I build 8 individual scaffolds, then start to combine them. I get to a 7 scaffold, and try to add one more to form an 8 size scaffold, but the scaffolds will NOT combine! I can use any combination possible, 1+7, 2+6, 3+5, 4+4, never with any success! How can I get this to work! Please help, I would really like to enjoy the soccer field, it sounds fun and entertaining, and it also bothers me that if it is not working it means that something was not installed correctly which means I could be at risk of not benefiting from things fixed from the other patches. Why is this not working?

SOMEONE has to have built this damn soccer field, or made an 8 size scaffold before? Someone?

I am playing B&W on Windows Vista Home Premium. I have the game installed and running as an administrator in compatibility mode for XP. This is a copy of the original game from before the Creature Island expansion.

I installed the 1.10 patch and it seemed to work fine while I had it. Then I tried to download and install the 1.20 patch after I had some problems with Land 2, which I think was because I did a skirmish game while on Land 1. Once the patch was installed, the loading screen still said I was using version 1.00. I'm not sure if it was installed properly and just didn't display the new patch version number properly or if it didn't install, I don't know how to check.

Also, I tried to install the soccer patch and to then build a soccer field building in Land 3, but I couldn't combine more than seven scaffolds.

All patches were downloaded from kayssplace.com. Any help on this matter is appriecated.

Question about Wonders at Land 5

Hey guys,
I am playing at land 5, doing quite well, conquered 2 villages so far.
The creature transformation-thing is a pain in the butt, and by destroying the Wonder Buildings you should be able to solve this problem.
But no matter how many megablasts or fireballs or lightning miracles i cast, the villagers keep rebuilding the Wonders.
Is this supposed to happen or is this a bug?

Well, I've picked up Black & White again. However, I have a few questions and problems.

Firstly, my creature seems to forget miracles. It seems that patch 1.3 is to blame, reading some of the other threads. However, different threads said that the save data is in the registry, so I don't really feel like uninstalling it and losing everything or fiddling with my registry. Is there another way?

Also, I have a question regarding Wonders. I've been trying to figure out what makes them bigger. I assumed it was being placed to highly populated cities (more belief) and on elevated ground, but it seemed it was larger between cities (on lower ground, as well) than in the largest and highest one. What is the formula for the Wonder size?

I am also having troubles with artifacts. I place them down in my city, but not many villagers worship it, even at night. They also seem to be more interested in rocks that I have thrown. For example, some villagers were dancing around a rock near the shore that had just missed the water. Any suggestions?

If I were to play Creatures Isle as well, is the creature mind the same for both games? So, if he were to learn things in Creatures Isles, would he remember them if I played vanilla Black & White? And, does the little bird thing come back to vanilla with him?

Lastly, my creature seems to have learned to cast lightning on himself, which is quite troublesome. Essentially, while I was teaching him lightning, he lost interest and walked towards it, and an arc hit him. He received 100% from it though, and now only casts it on himself. Would there be a way to fix that as well?

Black and White Unresponsive Mouse

Playing Black and White for the first time in a while on my new mac with Snow Leopard, I noticed that the mouse is annoyingly unresponsive to the point of unplayability. Middle-button rotation and scroll-zoom work fine, as well as moving the mouse itself, but using the left and right button for action and move prove very unresponsive.

For example, I'll be able to pick up a tree every once in a while and then not be able to put it down, or when I move, I'll be able to grab the ground and move once, but even if I wait 10 seconds, my second click will always zoom me to that area, rather than move the camera again.

The mouse is not the problem, as it works perfectly with everything else, and when I use a keyboard button for move or action everything works just fine. Help!
