Will all the small problems with this forum ever be fixed ? Smiley picker and all the tag options over the text box doesn't work in most browsers and not even the newest internet explorer (...), the many down periods with errors or the stupid error that makes you sign in and out of your live account on another site (like hotmail) for you to be able to browse the forums ?

I have wanted to delete my posts for severeal reasons in the past but never bothered because you need to explain why you wish to delete your own post.
I was just wondering why we are foced to do this as I find it a bit annoying?

Also I have realised there is no spell check button. Why is this? I cannot really think of many bad things that will come with this button being added...

Email Addresses Not Working on the Site?

Wow, I've lurked around the forum for probably over a year but never posted

I'm not sure if you guys know, but some of the email addresses on the website aren't working correctly and are bouncing emails. I've tried sending an email from different computers/networks thus I'm pretty sure it's not my end, so you might need to check. Course, it could just still be my end!

Are Lionhead looking for game testers in London, UK?

B&W2 modding community and LH modding forum

Pay attention to us LH fans on the B&W2 modding forums. The vast majority of the questions are unanswered (or require actual answers which only LH can give, such as how to change which weapon/shield models are assigned to infantry besides renaming them).

I understand that LH employees who deal with these topics are very busy (what with working on Fable 3 and such), but the modding community is really crippled at the moment due to a lack of support from LH (which, at the top of the forum, it says Lionhead supports the modding community).

Even if LH could...

Allow us to use the .bwm tools they used in the creation of B&W2 and BOTG.
Provide an explanation as to how to change the weapons/shield models assigned to infantry.
Make us a small guide which explains the arrangement of values in the balance.txt's and what each of them does, and..;
Give us an updated official modding toolkit which takes advantage of BOTG content.

With just these four things, the modding community could make some amazing mods.

If this could be passed along to the appropriate persons at Lionhead, it would be most appreciated.

Here, on these forums, we can't copy word documents to the boards itself, and they have to be attached. This has several downsides: - Some people with other versions can't see our stories. - Other people can CHANGE the attachments, like recently happened with someone's story, like I noticed. - We got less room for other attachments. So we want to be able to post our stories without attaching them! I already asked for it before, but as far as I know, it still hasn't changed! So once again: Let us post the stories normally! Copy and paste from Word, and post it then! I would hate to have to post on an other forum, just because I want to be sure no changes are made, and because it's easier... I hope you respond and do something about the problem soon! Cya! Solar, an annoyed writer.

Changes to the forums?

I'm sorry, I've been away for quite some time. I'm not sure what changes have been made in the 11+ months I've been gone but has something happened to the reply/thread creation page? I have a couple pictures to post, but hyperlinking, urls, image links, etc. have apparently been disabled. Also, the box to type in is EXTREMELY small. When I quote someone, I can barely read anything. And it seems that the smilies no longer work. Double clicking doesn't put a smiley in, so I have to drag it in. That puts in a bunch of text, though.

Am I missing something?

Badge Nominations

The badge system in this forum is in place to be a fun way of giving community members recognition for their actions and in this thread you can decide which members you'd like to recognize. Nominate members here for a badge and after a period of time the administrative and moderating team will go through all nominations and assign one badge to one member for each badge category. If there are no nominations for a particular badge since the last badges were handed out then no member will be assigned that badge. When nominating other members please keep in mind the following rules:

Do not nominate yourself.
When nominating a member(s) be sure to include the following three elements: the member's username, which badge you'd like to nominate them for, and why you think they deserve that badge.
Nominate according to the criteria of the badge. If the member has only been here for a year then don't nominate them for an oldbie badge. If your nomination does not match the criteria of the badge it will not be considered.
This thread serves as a place to nominate, not to vote. While you can nominate the same person as somebody else please keep in mind that this thread is viewed as a collection of nominations only, not votes. So just because one member has 10 nominations for a badge and another member has 2 doesn't necessarily mean that the former member will get the badge.
Final say is left to the administrative and moderating team. Nominations do not gurauntee a badge will be handed out to the nominated member.

Here are the badges to choose from as well as a description of their requirements:

- The Member badge is given to members who assist other members of the community more than the average forum-goer on a highly consistent basis. A member with this badge could be expected to help new members find their way, offer helpful links for others when questions arise, and show consistent behaviour in following the community rules.

- The Disciple badge is given to members who have shown a keen interest in every corner of the Lionhead community. Instead of posting in just one or two forums this member can be found posting in just about every forum and subforum in the community. A prolific member indeed, keep in mind that a Disciple must also do more than just post in a variety of forums; a Disciple is still expected to make sure the posts are on-topic and non-spammish as well as helpful where applicable.

- The Fansite Webmaster badge is given to members who own and run a fansite for a Lionhead Studios game or Lionhead Studios in general. The fansite must be run with some measure of quality and regularly updated to qualify for this badge.

- The Lurker badge is given to members who very seldom post but are online perhaps more than the average member. There's no exact science to it but anything more than 5 posts a month would be a rare occasion indeed for a lurker. It must also be said that not posting often is not reason enough for a lurker badge; when you do post it must be a and contributory post. The notion of "quality over quantity" is taken to the extreme with a lurker.

- The Member of the Month badge is given to members who have proven themselves as contributing forum-goers. Perhaps somebody has done something above and beyond what is expected of members or helped in some manner or another that could be considered more helpful than average; this person then would likely qualify for the Member of the Month badge. At the end of the month this badge will be replaced with a Past Member of the Month badge.

- The Modder badge is given to members who have shown a keen interest and talent in modding Lionhead games; the best of the best of modders.

- The Naughty Member badge is handed out to members who have continuously broken the rules and caused a bit of headache for the community. A mark of shame this is definitely nothing to be sought.

- The Oldbie badge is given to members who have been members of the Lionhead community for years. While the definition of who meets this criteria is not set in stone it is generally handed out to members who have been in the Lionhead community much longer than the average forum-goer.

- The Techie badge is given to members who almost live in the User Technical Help forums. Such members are constantly helping other members when it comes to errors, bugs, installation problems, etc.

Really this is the most pathetic excuse for a forum ever, half of the features from vbulletin were taken out and was replaced by some slower crap that gives you error after error... This is what i got all day today until just now, together with the server busy crap we are giving alot it is just horrible, no wonder why so many people are leaving.

Also as a guy in another thread said i cant access any profiles in IE, Firefox or Opera.

vBulletin vs Invision Power Board

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this topic, but I noticed that Lionhead uses vBulletin board technology and I was wondering if the users of this forum could help me decide between vBulletin and Invision Power Board. I'm seriously thinking of changing from phpBB 2.0.17 since all I seem to do is mod it so it has the same features as the two before mentioned boards. I am aware that purhasing is necessary to acquire these packages but I'm so sick of phpBB although I'll miss their great customer service [not sarcasm]. Pros, cons and comparisons would do greatly since I'm mostly interested in how a user finds these, but any feedback from owners of the boards [hint]Lionhead Boards admins[/hint] would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Fable series ideas, opinions and concerns...

Hey there Lionhead Team and Fable fans...This is my first forum posted ever and I am writing it because of somethings that i liked about the first fable game, changes that annoyed me a bit and some ideas and concerns i have about Fable 2 and the next fable games. Fisrt of all i am a huge fan of the Fable series and wanted to point out some ideas about the game. I do not know if this is the right place, but i am going to do it anyway. My gamertag is JJayWT and these are my thoughts...

1) Lionhead should make a POLL or SURVEY to see what gamers want. This will allow you to not only get extra ideas, but to help you know what we really expect on the game.

2) This is something that really annoyed me and i bet it also did to many Fable fans. The cheap artifacts behind demon doors. I don't know why there were cheap items back there but i think that it shouldn't be done again. Make it so that when a gamer or of course fan sees a demon door he or she thinks "Oh...i bet it's expensive and rare" and not "Oh it can be a cheap weapon that we can buy off the markets." It dissapointed me when i guessed so hard to open the demon doors, only to find something worthless...please Lionhead...

3) More customization would also be cool. Being able to customize weapons and other items would be awesome. Making it more real life-like; being able to change skin color, face width, and height and so on would be awesome. Imagine being able to trim or even make unique weapons and armor...it would be great. I know that to say it is not as easy as it is making a game, but it would be great.

4) The game should be in mideaval times like the first fable, giving the gameplay a great feeling of fantazy and historic focus.

5) Make it look more realistic instead of cartoonish. I am not talking about the drawings, but the people and of course the Hero. Cartoonish is , but realistic would be better, i think.

6) Allow a bigger...and i means WAY BIGGER array of items and artifacts. Playing with so little clothes makes almost everyone look the same. Do not just make normal clothes, make different ones like ninja clothes, chinese outfits...you know what i mean. Give each player a sense of individualism and uniqueness. MORE CLOTHES...PLEASE!

7) Now, this one is PROBABLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE IDEAS...BEING ABLE TO USE HORSES...and THE DOG (LEAVE IT FOR IT IS COOL AND GIVES A SENSE OF COMPANIONSHIP). This is one of the ideas that has really been troubleing me. TAKE IT UNDER CONSIDERATION.

I think that in the future, a fable game can be a couple of centuries back. Revealing more history about the Archons and the Sword of Aeons and so on. I say this because it seems like in fable 2 there is barely any history of the Archons and that which made the game so unique...JUST AN IDEA.

9) Cooler and bigger weapons would be great. I like the weapons from fable 2, but the weapons from fable 1 were even more rare and unique and awesome. They were more hero-like. How about combining both? Allowing normal weapons and Heroic weapons like the Sword of Aeons or Avo's Tear? Also, different weapons such as spears and pikes would be great. USING TWO SWORDS WOULD BE AWESOME TOO. AND USING A SHIELD...A SIGN OF GREATNESS.

*****ALSO MAKE IT SO THAT EACH WEAPON CATEGORY HAS ITS OWN WAY OF BEING WIELDED AND TAKEN OUT TO FIGHT***** (JUST AN IDEA)

Also, when there is a level weapon like in fable 2, do not just add some things like color to make it different...make it really different. So different that it does not look much like the previous weapon.

10) Copy some of the things from fable 1 like being able to know how much protection or defense the armor or shield gives you. And the attack as welll (it was useful to know exactly what weapon to use. BIG MONSTERS AND HARD LEVELS WERE WHAT MADE FABLE AND ACTUAL FABLE! WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE JACK OF BLADES TO SHAKE THING UP, NOT PEOPLE LIKE WHISPER THAT DIDN'T EVEN STAND A CHANCE AGAINS THE HERO. Also, being able to choose a difficulty might be cool...i'm really weak about the difficulty choosing, but...it might work? Well, maybe not...BUT THE POINT IS TO MAKE THE GAME MORE CHALLENGING. IT IS A HERO'S JOB AFTER ALL!!!

11) Make way more hair and tattoos. I personally like the long beard. Maybe you can make different types of each hair...for example: different long beard styles and long hair...etc...

12) More CLOTHES AND COSTUMES...COOL ONES LIKE DEMON SUITS, NECROMANCER SUITS AND EVEN IMPERIAL SUITS WOULD BE COOL...YOU KNOW, MAKE IT AWESOME LIKE YOU GUYS KNOW TO.

13) Make the game so that one's character can change dramatically in size, muscle (Make real heroic ones with better graphics). ONE THING THAT I HATED WAS HOW THE FEMALE BECAME MORE MUSCULAR THAN THE GUY AND EVEN TALLER. MAKE THE FEMALE FEMALE-LIKE AND MAKE HER GET A BETTER BODY WHEN SHE UPGRADES HER STRENGTH INSTEAD OF MAKING HER LITERALLY LIKE A MAN...IT PISSED ME OFF! Back to the topic...Do not make the hero look like an ordinary person, but make him or her EXTRAORDINARY AND BETTER. Make the characters different depending on what the gamer uses. For example: If the gamer uses MELEE attacks often, it changes the hero's stature, muscles and so on. Just like the and corruption thing...Skill using=Different appereance and tallnes and so on. ALSO MAKE THE STUFF REALLY . WHAT I MEAN IS THAT WHEN ONE IS , MAKE HIM OR HER LOOK LIKE AN ACTUAL DEMON-LIKE CREATURE WITH THE TALE AND DARK AURA AND EVERYTHING. AND IF YOU ARE , YOU GET THE HALO AND WHITE HAIR TO SEEM LIKE A god OR SOMETHING.

14) tHE MAGIC/VAIN THING ANNOYS ME. MAKE IT SO THAT THE CASTERS HANDS AND EYES LOOK LIKE HE IS A MAGE. MEANING THAT HIS HANDS ARE FILLED WITH MAGICAL AURA AND HIS AYES AS WELL...NOT THE VAINS PLEASE! IT GETS ANNOYING, DOES IT NOT?

The Banner Size Issue

I have been finding it very distracting to read these forums with so many people who's banners are significantly longer than the one-line posts that they make. I know this issue came up when the forums first converted to the MS software, but I don't know how thoroughly it was addressed... mostly those who raised concerns felt somewhat ignored if I recall.

I would like to re-open the question of banner size here, and propose that they be limited in size once again; I'm not asking (though would like) for them to be reduced down to the old limits (dimensions of my own banner and that of a number of oldbies), but I certainly think that something comparable to that size would be quite reasonable, rather than the half-page advertisements that some people's banners have turned into here.

There is just no need for that. In a room full of 100 people trying to attract the most attention to themselves all you have is a very very unpleasant room to be in.

I understand the purpose of sub-forums dedicated to the problems encountered by users in games; it becomes quite annoying when every single topic on the front page of the main forum is a "my game crashed/glitched/went nuclear". I think that when properly used they are quite effective. My problem is that I think that here they are used to the detriment of the users. A sub-forum was created specifically for the plethora of frequent glitches associated with Fable 2 (one of my favorite games), it quickly became a backwater forum with very little activity apart from those that actually do as they are directed and use it to ask for help. Very little help is given, I understand that this is likely to happen: forum members come here for fun and it can be tiresome to just sift through the misery of others. What should not happen is that it gets forsaken by devs. People post there looking for help, in general these posters don't have the answers, there is a large population of askers and very few teachers--they need people that actually have answers, or atleast more knowledge than the average bear. For example, two months ago I posted a problem with a certain quest, it started out in the main forum and then was moved to the Fears/Problems forum and then when that forum was ditched it was moved to the user tech help forum. I, along with a small community, have religiously kept it from being auto-deleted by keeping it on the front page with bumps. We have repeatedly simply asked for a dev answer as to whether we should hold on to affected characters in hopes of a patch, or whether we should delete them so as to free up a character slot. Recently one of the biggest LH defenders in our core group of posters started his decent into dissillusionment. I understand that devs are not and should not be on the forums 24/7, but I think a once a week peek into a subforum would be warranted, and after two months of front page placement, I have begun to wonder if it is visited by them at all. The help subforums more and more seem to me like the "free speech areas" of political rallies--all of the less-than-happy gathered together far away from the masses.
We should also look into the purpose of a help sub-forum. They should overtime become a repository for answered questions that users can sift through to find what applies to them. With the current set-up, once you get bumped off the front page, your thread is gone. This reinforces my increasingly cynical viewpoint expressed earlier.

So I went searching for my favorite megathread (the magical migrating thread of...) just now, and I couldn't find it. I assumed that it had simply moved again, but it all styles of searches turn up fruitless. I tried my recent posts, whole site search, everything.

Anyone know why it isn't showing up?
