The other day, I experienced this tragic event.

My friend was an adult, and had already reached Bowerstone. I joined in on local co-op as a sub-character, and when I returned to my game I had been replaced with the sub-character.

Renown, abilities, money, and / & corrupt/pure stats were erased.

However, I then later plugged my harddrive back into my original 360 (I had taken it to a friend's house and put it in his console.) and some of my losses had been regained. By that I mean my character's appearance and their abilities. Though it had all been reset to what they were before I had joined in on co-op. Also the weapons and items I had acquired while playing co-op never disappeared.

Unfortunately, my renown and all 3 million dollars had been lost. In the logbook it states that I have around 50,000 Renown but everywhere else its stuck at the reset amount. And my status amongst other places have all been reverted to Unknown and Familiar.

Before this I had only experienced one glitch, (I fell through the floor in Reaver's home.) but afterwards such glitches as people showing up as colored silhouettes and falling through floors began to happen quite frequently.

I was distraught at first, but now I just feel frustrated. I had just completed the story and I still have my properties which give me around 14,000 every day. And Fable 2, being such a treasure of a game, still leaves me wanting to play. But just the fact that the hours of gameplay had been lost, along with the fact that glitches are popping up a little too often leaves me upset.

I do hope to hear of a solution to this problem soon. Personally, I think Lionhead did quite well making the game. Especially considering how often the pushed the release date back and their online Video Diaries were unsatisfactory. But the game is excellent. Mostly just the entire gameplay and freeedom, not so much the way-too short and simple storyline. But the whole substitue character when playing co-op seems like a not-too-fun idea.

This is true i had just got done helping my bro out beating the game and well, all my exp is gone! missing! nothing left. Lucky me, i already have most of the achivements so i don't have to run through WraithMarsh anytime soon but! I would like for this bug to not happen to any1 else. So heads up every1 DON'T let this happen to you!

I've just had this happen to me!

I can't believe it!!

I'm very disappointed to say the least.

I hope that Lionhead learn from this!

Your welcome. We have been looking over the forums for problems that we can fix and will do our best... Hopefully everyone can forgive us for the occasional problem that you guys have found. We fixed over 65,000 bugs on the game (it's so massively huge and complicated) that it's unfortunately inevitable some will slip through - after all, I guess everyone plays the game differently. We'll keep you posted.

Considering that we wouldn't even have a fable without you guys, we don't ow you any forgiveness.

lost my character, however had seen this thread and thought it was fixed already, however I've managed to get it all back, wasn't to far in the game, so got on a killing spree.

this glitch seems to be when you start from childhood and transcend to adulthood, with the child henchmen saved to you character, or perhaps it is when you play with an unsaved character for a bit, and than saved the henchmen to a character, whichever it is, it substitutes the saved characters data, with the henchmen data.

Has Lionhead started working on the Bloodstone glitch cause I cant do anything in that place!!! So please Lionhead I would really apperciate the help thank you!!!

all my progress lost, just because I wanted to enjoy the game with my girlfriend..... this is just unacceptable!

I want to throw my copy out of the window and damn it to hell... WHY!!!

Hi.

We are indeed reading and have logged this as a bug in our database. I was helping one of the dev's fix this earlier so hopefully it will make its way into a title update very soon. Huge apologies for this one, it's a real shame it wasn't caught by test and I'm sorry that you lost your character's progress. This bug only happens when you select a save game in the couch co-op screen straight after childhood so don't worry about this happening elsewhere in the game. Again, sorry on behalf of the Lionhead guys...

I can tell that I'm gonna like it here. You guys actually talk to people here. I only know a few devs that do that, others just forget about the community. That's just great.

On topic, I will watch out for this bug when I get the game.

I've never experienced this bug and I've finished the game and joined several of my friends games in co-op when they were in childhood.

thanks for posting up the bug iBeej.

I joined my wife's new game...and could not understand why the henchman did not have my character's magic spells.

i was only into the game for a couple hours; but it still sux to loose your attributes.

Crap, It just happened to me. I just lost all of my Exp, Renown, Abilities, Purity, ">ness and Families by playing Co-op and selecting a save. My character is essentially as powerful and blank as if I just walked out of the gypsy camp for the first time with my endgame weapons and shiny clothing. Now I'm inside a world full of bandits and hobbes tuned to being endgame strong.

I started a new game and my girlfriend joined in co-op right away. We played up until Oakvale.

She still has all her stuff, maybe this only happens sometimes with different triggers?

To attempt to avoid this glitch, I'm beginning a new character, taking him through childhood to Bowerstone, THEN getting into a co-op game with my friend.

By the way, in most explanations of the glitch, it seems to always be the henchman who returns to their game to find their character wiped clean. Are there any instances where the host character is affected?
