Where are the B&W2 Gods? Temporary discussion thread for the Alignment Threads.

Hey there everyone from the Good [Good], Evil [Evil] and Neutral ThreadsBig Smile [:D](sorry, but if you're not part of the alignment thread RP community this thread is not for you and I would ask you to depart. Please do not spam). I thought it would be a good idea if we had an open vote on which race you plan to have as your own in the future of the B&W2 RP. I thought a poll was the best way for this since it will form an inventory everyone can see. This will help for the future as you can see which races the others are playing with. We'll also be able to balance everything out better so we're not all playing norse and japanese for example. That's the first use for this thread. Secondly there's a lot of other stuff to work out, now that we're transferring to a B&W2 universe with B&W2 rules in the RP instead of B&W1. I know we don't uphold strict rules in the RP really, but I think it would be a good idea to establish some guidelines about how we're going to handle things like the power of the new miracles, the Epic Miracles, army building and any other stuff that might need clarification or guidelines. This is only a temporary thread. I created it because there is a lot to discuss and doing it all in the alignment threads could interrupt the RP with pages of discussions. This way seems better. While Lord T suggested a general discussion thread I believe it would be best to limit the usual short discussions to the threads themselves. Once we've worked all this stuff all out we shouldn't have this much to discuss until B&W3 arrives. If others think we could really use a discussion thread this could be used for it, but otherwise we should just let this one die once we're finished. To answer the poll's question I'm using the Japanese since they are the most appropriate race for me to choose, since I'm training Ninjas. I'll post my opinions on the other stuff later to kick of the discussion if no one esle doesWink [;)]

I think I'll take greek, mostly because it's the racethat corresponds mostly with what I've been doing so far. But then again, SirJoe has them... I'm going to wait a bit to see what others vote. Aztec aren't "taken" yet as far as I know of. I would propose those to Solar, him being a sun god and all. My first choice would be the norse, but they're slightly contested too it seems. We could also allow some of the races from B&W1?

Well some races will be used by more then one person. It's unavoidable. Kaiser also has Japanese like me for the same reason as me, but as with regards to having monks, not ninjas and Fel is also using Japanese. We play with a lot of people. And yeah you can pick another race, like one from B&W1. That's option 6 of the poll.

Egyptians of course, I couldn't see it any other way, as my name and Khonsu both come from the same civilzation. I play with them now even, so I wouldn't abandon them for another race anyways. Happy [:)]

Since there was an option to pick another race, I'll be using the Celts. Or rather, seen as they've advanced 1000 years, more Jacobite like? If that's OK

Umm, I'd me more of a Norse man, if I would want to choose from myself and not my character. Tempts me, but I'll have to think more about it, seeing as I want to be both Japanese, Norse and Greek.. I'll have to think about it! Happy [:)]

Re: Where are the B&W2 Gods? Temporary discussion thread for the Alignment Threads.

I've gone for Aztecs, since I did a bit of research on them a while ago for Higher Powers 3 (I am still working on it... occasionally... Ermm [:ermm:]) and I thought that they sounded pretty cool. Their weapons are almost entirely non-lethal, which fits me pretty well. As for general rules, one point I was thinking of raising was the aspect of god death. At the moment, almost without exception gods choose getting captured over certain death, even though being captured may well take them out of action longer than simply dying. Do you think that we should perhaps add some sort of reason for that? We could for example extend the general length of the post-death downtime, since the RP isn't as fast-paced as it once was. Or some sort of importance to death, such as a minor change in the way that the god operates (for example, Kaiser's last death lost him his robotic body, and the alteration to his personality which went with that).

Re: Where are the B&W2 Gods? Temporary discussion thread for the Alignment Threads.

Perhaps death is a completely horrifying experience, takes a while to recover from and will lose you a lot of power? Perhaps if you die, you really die? And Iacobus, their weapons may have been somewhat nonlethal but they did sacrifice over 20.000 humans on an annual basis Wink [;)] Didn't know that was your style. Perhaps you should come hang with the bad boys Wink [;)]

Well, that's just negative publicity Rolleyes [] They never got into any of the hardcore Evil [Evil] like lawyers Big Smile [:D] Besides, I can just tell my Aztecs that I'm not interested in sacrifices, no biggie.

Human sacrifice is to aztecs what swords are to japanese.. or drinking to norse! If you take away the human sacrificings all you have are some hippie freaks with stupid hats! And nobody wants to see that. Rolleyes [] They built pyramids.. they're pretty Evil [Evil].

I put some thought in getting the brutal Aztecs... But the Norse interest me far more. That's why I started with them. Besides, I've got a load of mountains in my realm!Silly [:p] If there is a true need to change though, I'd probably do so. But we'll see! Classic [:classic:]

Norse. Orcid's Norse and I've got a symbol yet to be revealed (thanks to fel) that has some Norse runes on it. I've also got ideas for town names, characters and various other 'magical' beings. I'm even looking to get a story arc going that delves decently deep into the Norse culture (Orcid's Norse culture, anyway).

Jacobites... hrm... Well, think of the stereotypical Scot, with his kilt, sporran and sash, that's a Jacobite. They lived in clans, in the highlands of Scotland. Rough kind of people, but not necessarily stupid. I can't be bothered retyping a P6 project right now though....

Re: Where are the B&W2 Gods? Temporary discussion thread for the Alignment Threads.

Well I made the poll an open one. I'm sure I clicked the options right... Still I can't see who voted what, which we're supposed to be able to see. So I'm afraid I'll have to count it all manually after all. Here's the current results. Not everyone had actually made a clear vote yet, but I have added them to the temporary list nonetheless. The ones between ()'s have not voted yet, but have either posted what they prefer or chosen that race in their RP posts already. Greek: MJLover, Tom, (SirJoe, Lord Terrible) Japanese: BattleF08, (Kaiser, Fel) Norse: Solar, Orcid, (Amaunator, Bludgeonman) Aztec: Iacobus Egyptians: Anu Something else: SeeminglyPointless Not decided yet: Tigerlover, Hooligans So so far it seems pretty balanced, except for Aztecs which seems least popular. On the death issue, in addition to a time where your body reforms at your realm we could have a recovery time of about the same length where your body is weaker then you normally are. This would seem like the best solution since, although weakened, the god can still participate in the RP. If we extend death time it would just keep people from posting for a longer time, which sucks yeah, but is perhaps a bit too much punishment. If a recovery time is still not enough punishment for dying we could add stuff to that, like not being able to cast miracles during the recovery time. What do you guy think?

Woah now, I can't believe I haven't seen this until now. So like I totally chose Japanese for Samurai. I think that's all I need to say?

Re: Where are the B&W2 Gods? Temporary discussion thread for the Alignment Threads.

Hey Happy [:)]. Hmmm, uh oh, I see a problem here. You see, I was going to be Japanese, but that would make five gods with Japanese. I can't really think of another race that really suits me though. But, three of the gods with Japanese have already posted, so..... I guess.....well....we'll think about the Japanese. If you guys think five is too much, then I guess the egyptians fit me most.
