    Lionhead Studios Toolbar

    What is LST?
LST, or the Lionhead Studios Toolbar, is a utility that can be installed in either Internet Explorer or FireFox, allowing you to surf the web while still staying in touch with the Lionhead forums and members.

What Does LST Let Me Do?
Here are but a few of the features which are included with LST:

    • Chat with other Lionhead users.
    • Use the gadgets to have floating tools, games, and more on your screen.
    • A gadget-based Lionhead webcam that can actually float on your screen as your surf the forums.
    • Use the Image Uploader to quickly host your images to be posted on the forums.
    • Get current official news and press releases via Lionhead's RSS channel.
    • Quick access to your PM's.
    • Browse quickly and easily between the forums.
    • Quick and easy links to all Lionhead game-based fansites.
    • Stay up to date with your community news with the real-time news ticker.
    • Search the different forums all from the toolbar.
    • Visit Lionhead news, events, and PSA's via the NewsLink feature.
    • Implement the cookie cleaner, the history cleaner, and the cache cleaner.
    • Get notified when you receive new emails to your POP3, Yahoo!, Gmail, or Hotmail accounts.
    • And more!

For an in-depth look at LST and its more prominent features refer to the following image:

It is not required that you install the toolbar to access the chatroom.

    FAQ
What are all these options it's asking me about during the installation process?
The installer just wants to know what settings to give you by default for the first time you run the toolbar.  Basically these only apply if you intend to search the internet via the toolbar.  If you don't plan to do that you can deselect all options without noticing any real difference in usability.  You'll likely be using the toolbar for forum access more than anything.  One thing I do urge you to make sure of though is that the automatic update option is selected.  This way the toolbar can update itself with the latest Lionhead news.

The toolbar has a few buttons I don't really ever use.  Is there a way to remove them?
Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the LST logo on the toolbar.  Select "Toolbar Options" and then go to the "Predefined Components" tab and then deselect whichever button(s) you no longer want on the toolbar.  Select "OK".  Keep in mind you can always add these buttons back later.

You mentioned I can link the toolbar with my email account to notify me of new emails.  Why don't I see this on the toolbar?
In order to conserve space on the toolbar this feature is deselected by default.  To add your email notifier to your toolbar click the drop-down arrow to the right of the LST logo on the toolbar.  Select "Toolbar Options" and then go to the "Personal Components" tab.  From here you can select the email notifier, change your pop-up blocker settings (also turned off by default), add a weather forecaster for your area on your toolbar, or even add an online radio to your toolbar.

I want to add buttons to my toolbar.  Where do I go?
To add your own custom buttons to your Lionhead Studios Toolbar click the drop-down arrow to the right of the LST logo on the toolbar.  Select "Toolbar Options" and then go to the "Useful Components" tab.  From there you can add buttons ranging from Microsoft Office buttons, MSN Messenger, Windows Registry Editor, or the Windows Media Player.

A button I wanted to add isn't available.  Is there any way to add anything else?
If you'd like a particular button or feature added that isn't available in the toolbar options menus feel free to post a feature request here in this thread or PM the toolbar administrator, Mortalitis_Infinitas.

Are there other gadgets available that I can add to my toolbar?
There certainly are!  At the bottom of the gadgets drop-down menu you'll see a "More Gadgets" button.  From there you can browse different gadgets and then add them to your toolbar by the click of a button.

A gadget on the toolbar isn't working right.
All the gadgets are hosted by the G o o d [Good] folks over at LabPixies.  If there's an issue with a gadget feel free to contact them via their support page.

I'd like to add my Lionhead fansite to the fansite menu on the toolbar.  What do I need to do?
Drop a PM by Mortalitis_Infinitas with a link to your fansite.  If the fansite is approved it will get added in for all the toolbar users to see and have access to.

    Feedback
As always, community feedback is a very important process of continously improving LST.  LST is actively looking for ways to improve the toolbar as well as ways to offer new features that the Lionhead community wants and needs. If you'd like to see anything added, removed, or tweaked you can make such suggestions here. The aim of this toolbar is to be as user-friendly as possible so any and all comments are welcome.

All the download links are working for me. However, the download prompt may be running slowly if multiple members are downloading. Give it some time and it should come up for you. Happy [:)]

I used a utility to author most of the toolbar, much in the way that FrontPage authors websites. However, some things required a little customization so I had to utilize HTML code for a handful of features.

So pretty much : Yes Happy [:)]. Great... It's installed. Would it be possible to modify the toolbar later so that you can log in with the toolbar and you can see whether you have any PMs? Just an idea... So you'll have : Somewhere on the toolbar. And then you'll be able to log in and view your CP and a little place that displays your PMs? Happy [:)]

You need to put in a link for the Firefox version, I had to download it on to IE first before I found the link for the firefox version on the confirmation page. But nice work anyway, very useful.

I considered doing that at one point but there were two reasons that I chose not to. One was the fact that it's very hard to get a program to comingle with the programming of the forums. Also, I tried to keep the toolbar at 800 pixels in width for any 800x600 users out there, so it then became a matter of space. However, it's definitely something I'll be keeping in mind for the future. LST is going to be ever-evolving so new features will be added all the time. And the great thing is, it adds them automatically for you so you don't have to reinstall any software. Happy [:)] Thanks for all the compliments everyone. I'm glad to see it will prove useful for some of you.

Ah, okay... I was scared you had leet-programming skills all of the sudden. Silly [:p] I know you made Samball and such, but I've never seen you post anything on the Programming forums, so it would be somewhat strange you had lots of experience without ever posting on those forums.

Well, I have a number of side hobbies that I indulge myself in, but seldom "discuss" per say. While I certainly don't have "leet-programming skills" I do what I can. Happy [:)]
