I just sent out an E-mail to be a Beta Tester...ironically from my job where I am currently a Software Tester! Hopefully, if I get in, I can work in a lab where there isn't a horrible pall of self-importance and egocentricity that follows some of our higher-ups around like a faithful puppy.
Sorry to have to rant, but I feel I'm entitled...One of the head management types was unpacking a DSL Router near our break room, and to each of my progressively probing and detailed inquiries as to the box's functionality and specifications, I received a terse response somewhere along the lines of "I'm too busy to explain this VERY complicated device to someone as ignorant as you". So I took a cig break, and when I walked by them after my smoke, I heard another higher-up speaking with the first, and asking about some of the new system's configuration. And to a man that was his equal, my 'knowledgable' superior had no recourse but to respond with a hushed "I have no idea".
It's tasty tidbits like that which help me get by in a day.
