    Black & White 2: Of Gods and Mortals - Unofficial Expansion Pack

    Well hello everyone, I've announced Black & White 2: Of Gods and Mortals now, which will begin in 2008 after ToTC. I have a board on my site for discussion about it, but also the chance for everyone to suggest stuff to go into it. Everyone has a voice, so sign up now and get access to all my projects. You may also post here some ideas for it and all will be taken into account. There's already a major amount of high-tech scripts for it, but I need more. So don't hesitate. Any suggestions or whatever are always welcome. Daxter

    first of all, you should just say which "high-tech scripts" are in your mind. than we can begin with making suggestions. and good that you will keep on scripting and that you still have many new ideas.

    sounds cool, but what is black & white 2 battle of the gods and MORTALS? anyway I have got a few Ideas if my idea of what you are thinking is right lol^^. Units. soldiers. For the greek soldiers could you somehow let them make a phalanx formation? For the norse an ability to increase strenght and speed for a moment? For the japanese increase in range and acurraty? cavalry please. heroes. ships. seige weapaons. Ramp? ladders or something to seige the walls. buildings. some part of the walls to shoot at attacking units automaticly, without having arches on the walls. Guardian: house to automaticly produce police units, to prevents riots in the cities and prevent other from attacking the city, ofcourse they wont be as strong as normal units. Water cannel: system to apply better growth of the farms. Trading center: applies trading. Miracles. enabling super miracles, when you fire a fire ball 2 or 3 fire balls will come out instead. food, wood and ore miracles. reasources. wood. food. ore gold. Gold. used to buy upgades to soldiers and trading ore, food and wood. new changes and abbilites of certain things. walls to be higher. transporting through ships. enable troops to svim. Fire storm, fireballs falling from the sky destroying everything. magicla key stones giving abillities to certain things such, rank uprade when training soldiers, producing more food,wood, ore and gold. Riots can orcure in cities where circumstances arent the best, riots will attack citizens and burn buildings down or may even join forces with the enemy. new maps. two Islands, players fighting each each by using ships to transport troops or firing miricals. valley landscape, players fights throught valleys, which makes its difficult to use mericals. I dont know if this is completely wrong or right, but I am sure you could doa few of those points I mentioned above. -_- Well please consider my ideas. cant wait to you realease the new expansion ^^

    Have some units that are especially trained in taking down your or the enemies creatures, so they fling loads of ropes over it and pull it onto the floor, not always should this work but if there are enough distractions then the creature should be pulled down faster. Improve creature - your Creature can upgrade his abilities and have stats that you can apply, or you can train it at certain things where his stats would slowly increase in different things etc. like making it pick up rocks and throwing them, would increase accuracy and strength, something like that.

    i think you should change the speed how fast your creature gets strength. make it more slowly but let him train his strength at the normal rate when he fights against other creatures. when a crature dies, it will lose 10% strength.

    I didnt feel very godly in B&W2 or BOTG's, I would like to have a creature to be prowd of and one that i have put alot of work into to make it extra special, Like teaching him instead of that bar thing on B&W 2. I also noticed that B&W seems to have more choice of creatures which i would like. Instead of having wood, ore and grain miricales how about just a miricale like the life miricle that will bring up all 3. I would like to have other gods to battle like BOTG but not as scripted, like the gods have minds of there own. I would like to put fear into the hearts of my followers. Instead of having them become less productive as they become unhappy it would be good if there was also a bar like the happyness bar that shows how much they fear you, the more they fear you the more productive they will be. If you cant do any of the above then i am sorry but I would like something done with the creature so they are more like the B&W creatures. also some of the miricles on B&W sound good too. so if you could do that then i would be happy.

    I may have given the wrong idea but I am like you only a player of BnW2, not a Lionhead dev. I hope people know that ToTC/Threat of the Creed is restricted to what can be done and what can't be done. The new exp as well is just as restricted, I'm sorry about having to say that only part of these ideas can be used, like facing gods and stuff but unless I ask Lionhead for their BnW2 tools to do this, its only script-restricted stuff. But first let me take care of each of your ideas. KHT: Your ideas push the boundaries of my work, but there are some that can be done like the soldier powers (formations, ability increase etc.), I can Illusion ship moving so platoons appear going into ships and get transported across vast areas and then suddenly appear on the other side. Another few that can be done are turrets like you have mentioned, resource and upgraded miracles have been already prepared and quite possible. Madkill40: I'm not certain the rope thing is possible, but improving your creature the way you want is POSSIBLE, I understand what you mean as I have seen it in other games, so I'll see if it will work out. OrderOfDarkness: Strength is indeed a vital aspect of the creature and hence you can alter his abilities through the power of script, so this may be possible. Blitz_rockon: I don't think its possible to have a creature to be PROUD OF nor can you remove the creature bubble from the game. Thanks to the Visual Effect Editor in the Landscape Editor, it is possible to create this miracle and work the way you want it. Black & White 2: Of Gods and Mortals will basically be a remake of Black & White 1 but restricted in certain ways, but also with a more structured story. The game will have so many gods but they have no speech (Again Lionhead has the tools). The only to do this would be to script their minds. However after you have seen and tried my AI when I release Greenpatch tomorrow, then you will see how much of a mind of their own can be. Before I finish I think I let you guys in on some of the stuff in it. New Creature Selection, New Epics, may more miracles but no of the ones suggested here, New AI, New God AI and some other smaller stuff which I won't go into detail about. And one spoiler, the ability to conjure up lightning storms. Anyway thanks for all your suggestions, they are many possibilities in Black & White 2, but not all possible, those I have commented on will definitely be something interesting to see and hence may be possible. But for now I will create, test and see how it all goes and if your lucky I'll even post some videos of these things coming to life. Thanks and I look forward to hearing more, but please keep it restricted to Black & White 2's able stuff. p.s. I may take a look and take some ideas from that thread people are posting in "Black & White 3 suggestion Input". But also I'm not sure if I will keep scripting Black & White 2 if number 3 is out by the time this pack is complete, because in 2010 I will release ToTC and OGAM together with the ability to choose which to play and depending on the which EXP it is you will be asked if you want to continue on and play the next exp or backtrack and play the first exp.     which tools do you need? and which tools are missing? (the difference is: tools you need are the tools you would use, tool which are missing are tools which other people would use, like a 3d model import program)

    You dont need to have an importer/exporter program all we need is some kind of 3d model program. Because i have and many others as you may know have changed parts of or completly changed models e.g. Iv gave the melee soldiers the old swords, spears and old/new shields, but i need to find the old armour or body types because they dont look right with the old/new sword or shield types. Which comes to my point i do trust you could add a new armoury building and have it so we have another unit type e.g. we allready have swords why not spearmen with diffrent armour and shields. Give them diffrent damge and defence properties of course so we can have some kind of support unit or just make the battlefield look more intresting Wink [;)]. Perhaps if possible add the egyptian tribe if there are enough building parts allready inexistance that is. So again more intresting feel and it also makes the game expantion an expantion. And finally some kind of reward map like an Sandbox skirmish map where it has every tribe going at each other crazy an all vs all kind of stile of play. With constant fighting Wink [;)] y'know an off story just plane fun map.... unless you could allready release 1 like that, im not to good with scripting.

    well hey, as long as there's a way to convert the model into that of .bwm (Black & White Model) then it shouldn't be a problem. And yes you will be able to choose between tribes and the relevant buildings when placed will be overwritten with that tribes model of that building. However the other tribes don't have all the buildings the Greeks do you might miss out on some. I may release three versions for each tribe Greek, Aztec and Japanese which will automatically install the mod for the tribes but it will be a risky thing to do.

    I just had an idea about modeling. Wouldn't it be easier if we simply get someone really good (i mean heaps good) at programming and get them to make a modeler that would work with BnW2 models and everything else. One which would load and save new .bwm models and be able to change existing ones and write them into the game.

    It's just to find someone to do it. The question of being able to model the .bwm files has come up quite a few times in the past and no one has stepped forward to try to create an editor. One of the things to consider with the player 0 buildings is the there are three textures for each. One set for each alignment and neutral.

    True. If lionhead created an editor in the first place to create these files, then it shouldn't be too hard to do that same thing. So anyone with C, C++, C#, .net or any of those languages with experience, then please ease our pain and develop something for us. And while we're maybe a .chl decompiler that will tear up the challenge files into text files so we can see how Lionhead has built their campaign(It would certainly be helpful to me). Oh and I think it kind of sucks that we scripters are really good at this stuff but useless when we need something we don't know how to create.

    Well hey thanks for the tip Lionhead dev. Happy [:)] Seems like those who use 3DsMax can be helpful after all. Maybe that dragon creature that was made in 3ds Max can be brought into BnW2: OGAM if someone can create an exporter.

    ok thanks. I checked it out and the price for the program isnt cheap at all): it would be nice to create some new units with that program like the dragon. What is an exporter?

    It's a nice dream but I don't think it'll be possible. Here's a quote from The Bag from a similar Discussion, http://boards.bwgame.com/showthread.php?t=209501

If the creature needs to do anything different from one in the game you need access to the source code and the ability to recompile the game. You need to create all the animation, all the morphs, etc for a creature to work, this isn't a small task (e.g. the turtle was worked on for all of the dev length of BotG).     No way dream crushed): There must be another way to do this rather than using 3ds Max. How did Lionhead make the buildings, soldiers and mericals?

    3D max is just a modelling program. If someone can write a bwm exporter/converter (for Max or some other 3D program) then you can put new static (non-animating) objects in the building (rocks, buildings, weapons, etc). Our asset build produced the bwms for us. New creatures, villagers, animated buildings, anything that's animated needs our asset build process or someone with a lot of time on their hands, even then I don't think they could crack adding a new creature.
