Tutorial: How to Upload Your Films in High-Definition

For this tutorial you will need but one thing:

    ~ The Movies Editor (MED)

This tutorial will take you step by step on how to upload your films to the Movies Online in High-Definition.

WARNING!! -- UPLOADING YOUR FILMS IN HIGH-DEFINITION WILL TAKE UP A LOT OF MEGABYTES ON YOUR STUDIO'S MEMORY.

STEP 1 -- Open The Movies Editor (MED)

STEP 2 -- Click the plus sign next to the 'tm'

STEP 3 -- Click the plus sign next to 'data'

STEP 4 -- Click on the plus sign next to 'video,' then click on Video, highlighting it in blue.

STEP 5 -- Click on the 'Export Selected' Tab

STEP 6 -- Set your destination as to where the exported files will be placed.

STEP 7 -- Once finished exporting click 'OK'

    STEP 8 -- Close MED

STEP 9 -- Open the directory and folder you chose to export your files to in step 6. (Look for the folder name you chose with the word 'data' attached to it)

STEP 10 -- Inside this folder you should have 11 files, like this:

STEP 11 -- Click on the two files that are named:

    "wmvprofile_high.prx"
    "wmvprofile_high_na.prx"

    and rename them (for now):

    "wmvprofile_upload1.prx"
    "wmvprofile_upload1_na.prx"

Like this: (NOTE: include the '1' after upload on both)

STEP 12 -- Now, find the two files named: (Without the '1')

    "wmvprofile_upload.prx"
    "wmvprofile_upload_na.prx"

    and rename them:

    "wmvprofile_high.prx"
    "wmvprofie_high_na.prx"

    Like so:

STEP 13 -- Now go back to the files your renamed to be:

    "wmvprofile_upload1.prx"
    "wmvprofile_upload1_na.prx"

    and rename them (again):

    "wmvprofile_upload.prx"
    "wmvprofile_upload_na.prx"

    Like this:

STEP 14 -- Copy (Ctrl+C) those two files you just renamed in Step 13 and paste them into:

    Program Files

(CREATE THE "VIDEO" FOLDER IF IT IS NOT ALREADY THERE!)

And SCHZAAAMM!!! Your one happy camper!

Go into The Movies Game, and when you export choose the "online" definition choice and it will export and upload in high definition! If you choose to export in "high" definition after you have done this tutorial, it will export as online quality.

WARNING!! -- UPLOADING YOUR FILMS IN HIGH-DEFINITION WILL TAKE UP A LOT OF MEGABYTES ON YOUR STUDIO'S MEMORY.

If you wish to switch back to the old online quality just do the same tutorial backwards, rename the "high.prx" files to "upload.prx" and the "upload.prx" to "high.prx."

If you would like to upload your films in even better quality, repeat every step except using the "wmvprofile_best.prx" instead of the "wmvprofile_high.prx."

Don't forget, no movie over 15 mins can be done this way, or you'll run out of space.

Though my old computer would die of a coronary if it tried a Hi Def exercise, I do appreciate a clear, precise tutorial such as this!  Fantastic work!  Highly commendable!  Thank you!   K4

Re: Tutorial: How to Upload Your Films in High-Definition

I got the same two files, and the proper folder, from a ZIP I found posted by I believe JazzX that you gave him in a different thread, Pookashells. My question is, that I can not tell if it worked or not. It seems to look better, but it's not such an improvment I can honestly tell. Would you like to allow me to know, by seeing a scene of it? http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/145648

It is also short, so hard to judge on the MB size.

Re: Tutorial: How to Upload Your Films in High-Definition

If you download a film that was exported in "online" resolution, and download say your film, which was exported in "high" resolution, then compare them, you'll notice your movie has better resolution and a bigger screen.

Hope that explains it. Smily [:)]
