Which one do you think is best? The 360, PS3, Wii, or some other console. I just want to know. I don't want anybody to fight over which console is better. They're all great consoles.

Pfft, the best game console ever is, like everybody knows, the SEGA Master System. After that console I never bought another one again because they could not reach the gloryness of The Master.

Joking aside, I think that SEGA made indeed the best consoles and I was in deep mourning when they announced to end the console production.

The original Playstation - it completely changed how gaming was seen by older and mainstream consumers, and really began opening up gaming to the wider audience it now enjoys. It made gaming cool, basically. Back in the day, it was revolutionary.

Sega Saturn. One reason: NiGHTS best game I have ever played! I even got a high score printed in the yellow pages of CVG!
if you need further proof: Virtua Fighter 2, Sega Rally, Fighters Megamix, Panzer Dragoon Zwei/Saga, Sonic R (gotta love that soundtrack!).....and Clockwork Knight
And those are just the ones that got a UK release.

Hardcore gaming at its finest. its a pity i was crap at most of them!

I just wanted to mention the one and only hardcore arcade home console ever made: the Neo Geo.

If this thing wasn't so expensive back then, I would have owned one, instead of playing the games on a slot machine. King of Fighters or Viewpoint were also great for this console. For the money thrown into the automates I would have probably got a Neo Geo, but each game was nearly as expensive as the console itself.

As far as 3D consoles go, I have to go with Prof. I liked the N64 more than the Play Station. The textures used for the PS somewhere always looked *** while the N64 had this cleaner style. Except for Gran Turismo maybe. The N64 looked just like the 3DFX graphics card for the PC and the Glide graphic interface. I specially think of Turok here which was bundled with my 3DFX Voodoo card.

NES

When you have a 1001 cartridge to play with,there was not 1001 games but you can't go wrong. Basically Contra with hacks, as i could have the spread gun from stage one.

Then there was adventure island,why a caveman was on a skateboard i have no idea but it was fun.
Track and Field, i always was the best at that.

Many games for it.

The only way to make the PS3 worth anything is the possibility to turn it into a "half" PC with Linux installed on it. Than you can actually run emulators on it for real consoles, aka SEGA Mega Drive, Master System, NES, SNES, N64 or Neo Geo!

well i dont know about you but idd rather play on a ps3 than play on a wii what with all the educational games on it.one of them being aimed at 4 to 8 year olds called cosmic family. its just like what nintendo did to the DS only worse.

I never really rated the PS2 that much as a piece of hardware. Obviously great games came out for it, but as a console I never thought it was that much of a step on from the PS1. I mean, with the PS3 there's a clear generation deliniation marked by a whole host a features added (Hard-drives, wi-fi/ethernet from the begining, media functionality, online stores and services, dual boot and so on), but all the PS2 really did at the time was soup up the graphics a bit. I loved my PS1, but when the PS2 came out, I just didn't see the attraction. I mean, I've got one, but I didn't buy one until last year when the price had really came down, and that was mostly because I wanted another DVD player and thought I might as well get one that plays games too.

360 is the best so far.  It's the most social experience out there, and is a great multi-media extender / box to boot.

It's also been the only console I've ever got my wife interested in - mostly because of the Xbox Live Arcade.  She even plays it when I'm not around!  All my Rootbeer and Astropop achievements on my card come from her

After that I would say PS2 - because it was capable of playing with tons of people at once in front of one screen in games like Bomberman and Pro Evo Soccer.

N64 has one of my fav games of all time on there... Llyatt Wars.  And memories of playing that and Golden Eye on a cinema screen at university late one night still make me smile

Yeah i would have to agree to this also. Some of my best games came from this PS1. Crash Bandicoot warped, Spyro, Ape Escape,Silent Hill and the best of all FF7.
It has alot of games, I have had one since 2000 and it was still going strong until i gave it up 2 years ago.
times was had with it, i would play my music cd's through it as well.Just to name some more games from my collection. MGS, Tomb Raider, and Pro Evo 2 was the best thing ever to have when you had your mates over!

Pro evolution is still the best thing to have when friends comes over...  I had my neighbour complain to me because we yelled while playing it the other day, you just cant stop yourself from celebrating a nice goal .

Hehe, classic fanboyism I'm a Sony fanboy, therefore my mind tells me the PS3 is the bestest (And yes, I own one). Powerful - It can produce amazing graphics, maybe even a bit better than the 360, but if it can, it hasn't proven itself yet. And the obvious reason is the lack of games... which pisses me off. I find myself playing more demo's than anything, because a lot of the games aren't worth the buy yet.

 

In time I will have my 'ZOMG PS3 IS TEH B3ST!' attitude again. All it will take is time.

Yes, coming out SOON. The awesome games aren't out yet. 1) Just like Halo, I don't understand why people like Resistance , MotorStorm is fun but gets old after a bit, and I personally never liked fighting games.

All I know is that the console will be enough soon. Ratchet and Clank, Haze, Uncharted... things like that will make T-F happy

what about tekken 5? does the 360 have tekken 5? NO! + not only is the PS3 compatible with PS2 games but also PS1 games as well. & all of your game memory is stored into the hardrive so you dont have to waste dosh on memory cards. an online connection great graphics and all sorts make The ps3 the BEST console ever.

 

and as for the games just be patent. moaning about it wont make them come out any faster.
