    Keep playng as your children

Apparently, they had tried to make it so that when your hero dies, you can continue playing as one of your children.  However, they scrapped the idea because it would cause people to have too many children because they're just like extra 'lives'.  I think that if they made it so that you can only play as one of your children (something like a will can decide which one you'd be able to play, and that one can inhert your stuff too).  Then, to be able to have another 'life', that child would have to have their own offspring (instead of continuing on as a sibling).  Basically, you only get to play one life in each generation.  And if there is no offspring or if you do not wish to continue on, that would be the end of your hero's lineage.

Sounds cool to me, but it probaly wouldn't work, after about 2 generaions, that's already 100 years, and they would have to keep building on the towns and adding technology, it would take a long time to get this to work, much longer than anybodys willing to wait.

in alot of other games and stories because of magic technology advances very slowly. So if fable followed this then technology pretty much wouldn't advance at all in 100 years. As for growing population...that problem would still remain....

If you kept going on and dying, then becoming your son, over time to many years would pass and you'd end up in modern day time shooting at big wooden boats with a flintlock, that wouldn't work out.

That wouldn't work because what would you do? You wouldn't be able to play the same storyline over, or anyof the side quests.  And society has to advance, you know, technology, buildings, weapons, clothing, everything else. The only way this could have had a slight chance at working, would be DLC. Although LH would have to ignore the advancements of society. You could have quests, but then it just sounds like a massive headache. see. It wouldn't work, only theoretically, in a way.

Re: Keep playng as your children

youd probably only take over as your child if lionhead added a new main questline that took place after you hero's death. Then you'd die and your son(or daughter) would take over and have a story of his (or her own). In a magicall world, magic slows down technological advancement by a factor of a thousand, because magic acts as a substitute for technology in some cases (healing magic-replaces medicine). If fable followed what happens in other magical worlds than it would explain why technology would have stayed the same, but it would be hard to explain growing technology and why technology even advanced at all between fable 1 and 2

I could imagine becoming 1 of your children, but after that I'd rather not become my offspring.

I don't think they'll do that. They said love, and other such feelings, are important; if you can just reincarnate as your spawn, lofe would feel so much more expendable. Thus killing any attachment to the NPCs.
