Production Thread ~ The Smoke and Swallow of an Abraham Drone

The Smoke and Swallow of an Abraham Drone

With the seeming crumble of the last film I was working on, Red River Riders, on the update of Vista and the technical problems that then occurred, I moved on from attempting to fix the issue after a near full day of having done so, to write a script of a film I would like to begin production on in the meanwhile of waiting for this issue to resolve its self within the struggle of The Movies and Vista for control of my computer, and between the moments of the other collaboration script I have been writing with Mustachio26.

The film I am speaking of is titled The Smoke and Swallow of an Abraham Drone. It is, as seen, a lengthy title, which is not common on TMO as I have seen; but I feel that, in subtext, it fits well with the script and ideal of the film in question.

I created a poster recently when I decided to start this thread. It is, likely, a temporary poster, and will be remade when a cast and composer may be added to the credits.

It was brought up recently by Sisch, that an idea to cast the roles within the script before visiting AMM, or even Star Maker, will help to bring the characters to life in their portrayal of the voice and face congruity. As such; I would like to begin casting here.

Please send all Audition lines to: KarlJamesBrown@yahoo.com

    Role Needed: Maemi Fountain
    Gender: Male
    Age: ~30
    Nationality: Any (Fluent English)
Description: This is the main character of the story, as well as the narrator at some points. In every scene that he is in, he will appear more interested in the things happening around him then those in front of him, such as the conversation. A poet and pseudo-philosophizer, this character has an almost Occultism feel to him.
    Size of Role: Large
Audition Line: "Though I think not to think about it, I do think about it; and shed tears, thinking about it. Troubled night. No resting place for my thoughts."

    Role Needed: Suana Fountain
    Gender: Female
    Age: ~30
    Nationality: Any (Fluent English)
Description: The spouse of Maemi Fountain, and the more comical and flirtation of the duo. She counter-balances everything of Maemi, and together as a couple they make a solid front. Secret admirations against Maemi, however, drive conflict through the film, as his subtle nature begins to wear on her own.
    Size of Role: Large
Audition Line: "No more then you deserve; and if you protest any more, then I should say you were blind."

    Role Needed: Abdiel Abramovich
    Gender: Male
    Age: ~30
    Nationality: Any (Fluent English)
Description: This character is the husband in the marital friends of Maemi and Suana Fountain, and a general "Man's Man", as would be a fit description of the character. A simple, and common person, as you would find average around you. He is involved in a dramatic moment of voice acting, and the note is put out to any voice actor to keep in mind if interested in the role.
    Size of Role: Small
Audition Line: "Here here, my love. Come, friends; I can hear the orchestra starting."

    Role Needed: Delilah Abramovich
    Gender: Female
    Age: ~30
    Nationality: Any (Fluent English)
Description: The spouse of Abdiel Abramovich. She is not seen often in the film, and a very fitting role to any female voice actor looking to put a few lines into a film, without having to spend a whole night in recording.
    Size of Role: Small
Audition Line: "You never fail to keep all things an adventure, Mister Fountain."

I am also looking for a composer. Please speak to me in a PM if interested in a composition request of this film. I am interested in a few slow and melodramatic pieces with possible female chorus or humming through-out. I can give examples if asked, but I am not so set on a specific sound, that it should matter that much.

I have the script in PDF form, and will give it to all cast members upon casting.

Thank you for the interest, bricksfilms. I will listen to any audition lines you may send; and if you do not find the time, it is alright.

Haha, sounds G o o d [Good] Jase180. I'll drop by my email tonight and take a listen if you've sent them in. Take your time, though; no rush to get them in by any date. And; thank you for the interest.

Re: Production Thread ~ The Smoke and Swallow of an Abraham Drone

To my knowledge, there is still no Snow Weather Effect modification.

I am working on an overlay that incorporates Duel's "Snow Overlay" with a widescreen that will match into the rest of the widescreen overlays in the pack by SamyHouse. I will see about releasing it on 8EyedBaby.COM after the release, for anyone who wants it.

Re: Production Thread ~ The Smoke and Swallow of an Abraham Drone

What do you mean by widescreen? Are you making an overlay to make the film widescreen, cause it would save you a lot of time and effort not doing that because, and I suggest people who do do this now listen in aswell, The movies already exports in widescreen. If you've ever viewed a movie in full screen off the webiste or on a tv for that matter, it appears in widescreen, the only reason it doesn't look that way on the site right away is cause Lionhead removed the black bars.

So ya, I'd suggest you don't do the widescreen thing, if that's what you meant by that of course. Stick out tongue [:P]

If you view my last two films, they are both in widescreen, and I feel it adds a specific aspect to the film that I enjoy to see and appreciate when I see in another film. This modification, such as the same for the original Widescreen Pack made by SamyHouse, is for those like me. This is a matter of opinion, though, as is everything based around TMO; such is the reason overlays are an option to be added.

I understand that the films are in widescreen, but I do not personally view the films in full view unless the description requests it specifically, and I can not imagine a greater populist of the community does.

Thank you for the input, however, Bricksfilms. I have even used modifications of yours in the past, if I remember correctly. I am positive others would agree with you.

There are 2 male roles, Jase180. I'd love to have you on the project, if you'd like to do the minor role? I won't even require an audition, after the work you did on the Last Rites series.

Thats very thoughtful, but I honestly think I need to "earn it", does that make sense. I will give it a try tho. I did however forward this thread to AnotherNewDawn, because only 2 people come to mind perfect for this role and hes one of em.

I will regroup and try again and mayhaps not be so picky on my voice.Big Smile [:D]

    Absolutely. I respect that.

And I thank you for forwarding the thread to someone. The TMO community is really one of the best I've been around.

As I still have a cold, I can't really audition, can I? Bleh, shame too Sad [:(]

Well, I am trying to learn to score movies, and have quite a bit of equipment to mess about, however, I'm not so sure it's what you'd be looking for, the sort of stuff I've been churning out recently... if you can PM me a more accurate description of what it is you need, I may be able to help, but I'm not the best by a long shot... Nervous [:nervous:]

And even if that's not of any interest or relevence, then let me xpress interest generally in the project Wink [;)]Up []
