I just read where you can beat the main story in Fable 2 in 12 hours...

Yeh but thats just the main quest and if you are rushing through it and not messing about by going to the pub, and raising a family, im sure there will be side quests and plenty of exploring to do

if anyone is planning just 2 rush through Fable 2 i doubt that its a game for them .. fable 2 is about making your own story and journey as a hero... im not realy intrested in the main story personally...

You can beat many games in rather impressive times.  But just because somebody could beat the game in "x" amount of hours doesn't mean they really played the game. 

make the main story long hours or make a game with high details where you can do much more then do the main story like mass effect had a ton of stuff you can do on the side, that is probably not including the optional quests like in a fable 1, i rahter have a game that is in detail and where its fun just to live a life then have a long main quest, main quest lasts for some time til theres no more, side stuff like job and raising a family takes as long as you play it for

Anyway... I beat Oblivion in less than that and no one can say its a short game, thats just the main story, I wouldn't worry about times. They dont really mean much, if I played Oblivion properly it'd take me 20+, depends on the player and there play style. Fable 2 will get about 40+ hours out of me, due to pissin about, exploring, and replays. Never take play times seriousally.

of course you can finish the main quest in about 12 hours, thats a rather normal time to finish a game... HOWEVER this is not a normal game and hopefully you'll do alot more that just the main quest! so please stop making these threads before thinking and stop worrying so much for your own sake

I don't see it as a big deal. Look at Mass Effect. The main story if just play by itself will take you maybe 8 hours. But if your play with all the side missions you've got yourself a 40-50 hour game. Maybe Fable 2 will be the same.

Eh, I finished mass effect all the way through in like 28 hours STRAIGHT lol. Honestly though, you can finish mario in something like 5 minutes, but its the same every time. Its all about the extra's, and how its different everytime you play

Personally I don't mind if a game is short in regards to the main story, as long as there is plenty of stuff to do on the side.

12 hours sounds more realistic that what was promised in Fable. I think they said it would take like 20-30 hours or something? Maybe even more?

12 hours for the main quest isn't bad...As other people have stated, throw in side quests and other little features and you've got yourself a pretty long lasting game.

12 hours isnt that short if you ask me...many other RPG'S have 8 hour main quests...seriously man its all up to you if u want to finish it in 12 hours..I know im going to take my time and enjoy the game and not rush to beat it cause then it wont feel like im actually playing it for fun. and games are made to have fun arent they?

12 hours for the main quests is actually kinda long.
And don't forget that Fable2 has MANY other things to do. You won't always stare at your dog, rushing from main quest to main quest. And if you do.. Then why did you even buy the game. Wasn't designed so that you'd just complain that it's gonna be too short before it's released, do the main quest in a rush when it is, and then complain that it was too short and leave.

better then halo. i can beat it and 2, in 4 hours, with breakis included. thats right, i timed it. but look at final fantasy 12 if you want long story line. it's not too long, only you need to train to get past most bits.

surely they ment the main storyline { skipping cutscenes and running straight through}in 12 hours becuase there are probably gonna be about a billion different ways to beat the game.

Like others have said, this is only the case if you just go heavy set on the story. Fable 2 is not a main quest only kinda game.  Fable 2 is designed for you to explore many of the different aspects of gameplay it offers essentially turning that 12 hour main quest into a 30+ hour experience.

Do you only age doing quests?
