    Those That Paved The Way

Those Who Paved The Way V.3

Welcome to the fable fan fiction board, this board opened in 2007 this topic is dedicated to the topics that set new standards, gave help, and were the most popular stories. I made this topic to basically have the new members see the very best stories on the board, so that they will strive to achieve great writing and a entrancing story such as those down below.

However before you post a story I would highly wish you read through this, I do encourage writers but I do expect a readable story that live up to writing standards.

My name is Hermit I am not a moderator as to which some people believe. However I do help others with their stories(when I feel like) I created this thread with the help of some others, but enough babbling from me, start reading the stories!

    Promoted Threads:

The Punctuation Of Dialogue A Must Read

A very helpful thread that guides writers to enhance their work tenfold, think of it as a FAQ on the fundamentals of dialogue, a MUST read for ALL writers. Posted by MJLover.

    Fan-Art

True this being a fan-fiction board, but you can never stop great rogue threads that have meaning and purpose, if you have any fable related art you want to share post it in Fan-Art, this thread was posted by CJ_Sparrow.

    Roster:

    1168

1168 or Altair has established herself as one of the very best if not the best writer on the boards, her writing skill is beyond doubt. But personally I prefer her short stories to her story as it interests me much more, not that her main one isn’t G o o d [Good], its arguably the best but its not my cup of tea.

Though ignore me, everyone else loves it. I’m just jealous Hmm [^o)]

A Fable Tale: This Being The Account Of One James Hunter A Must Read

Creed is about a contract killer this story is very descriptive and beautiful it mixes Fable with Assassins Creed.

    Creed

Another stunning mix of Fable and Assassins Creed, extremely well written.

    The Blade in the Crowd

Ah a troubled mind, my favourite tale by 1168, its rather mysterious, charming, but addictive

    Raven, Raven.

A Troubled Mind A Must Read

A horror tale that was written near around Halloween

    A Fable Horror Tale

    Andrenavarro

Not a very well known writer he/she had a short stay on the board but during that time they managed to post a series of funny stories, highly recommendable.

    The Invention Of The Firearm

As the title suggests its Pulp Fiction mixed with Fable, be careful though its got loads of swearing.

    Pulp Fable Fiction

    The Loose End

    In Slow Motion

    BT-Nexus

A new (ish) member with a lot of potential, if they only applied themselves I believe they could be the most popular on the board, he/she has churned out a couple of fascinating stories which you simply will adore at least I do.

    The Roadway

    Battle of the Bloody Harvest

    Vivid Imagination

    Cheesus

Veteran member, Cheesus AKA the edamessiah, has created many tales all loveable, his skill grows with each new story written, and at such a young age, great potential lingers around him.

The second story posted on Lionhead to do with Fable was Jamie’s story, it follows a child following our hero in TLC writing a diary about what our hero did. A wonderfully colourful tale.

    Jamie's Story

    Redemption

    Renegade

    CJ_Sparrow

A great person, with two brilliant stories, very descriptive writer helps the vision, his second tale is in first perspective worth checking out his stories. A truly great member, though I haven’t seen him around for awhile.

    Heroes past, Future And Fallen

    A Rogues Tale

    erbanleamonaid

A veteran member, who brought us many great fables and tales, he created a character called Dunham the guard, a must read for any true reader. Among others he has done other tales, I’m not sure if they are all related but still they are brilliant stories.

    A Witchwood Tale

    A Traders Life For Me

    The Bloody Harvest

    The Old Ways

A Deep Grasp And Silver Sky

    A Fateful Fable

    A Dark Fairytale

    Gamer_Of_Darkness

AKA G.O.D, a great reader and a great writer, I could only find one story of his, but it’s a great tale, very dark and dismal but it sets the mood for a grand story. He really must finish this story, its amazing.

    The Tale Of Dravid Taservor

    Gottstein

The tale of Skorm and Avo by Gottstein shall never be forgotten, by me or anyone one else who’s read it. It revolves around the hero after the events of TLC, the story revolves around the Gods Skorm and Avo, a delightful trilogy, somewhat legendary in my mind.. A Must Read

    Song Of Skorm

    Avo's Indignation

    Of Ying And Yang

    GiuseppeArcimboldo

Some people may remember this naughty member, well ignorance is bliss. Although he was a horrible member, who treated all others like inferiors, his writing skill was undeniable, the story is a piece related to a Dickens tale. Very intelligent writing at its best, such a old style, most modern men understand nothing of this.

    Mrs Sparsit's Demons

    Hartigan

The very first Fable Story posted on Lionhead, which demanded reading, it’s a quite a large tale, set about TLC, a G o o d [Good] read.

Fable: Tale Of A Hero Chapter 1,2

    Hermit

“Teh Hermit is one of our more seasoned veterans of the board. He has a plethora of stories which are as diverse as the emotions you'll feel when reading them. His fiction is very descriptive and it's easy to envision what his tales might look like.”

    Faustus

Hero For A Day is about a Hobbe named Gretch who tries to rescue his family from humans, a unorthodox tale loved by all who read it, by far my most beloved tale of the fans.

    Hero For A Day

The hero has quit, his wife lays dead, his son cries, the whiskey cries for the hero. A very emotional tale.

    Desperate Essence

A spoof on fairy tales, included with IM language a funny story.

    Once Upon A Time

The beginning of the Basset saga.

    History Of The Hound

A story set about a mysterious foreigner with a hidden past.

    Through The Ages

A failing bard quests to find a legendary ranger, and uncover his dark past.

    Temmins “White Wolf”

    Kit

If ever there was a fable to be converted over to the big screen, it would be these stories, after all they all ready have camera’s and stuff. Kit wrote this saga in a movie script style, first on the board to make full use of this unique and unorthodox style, well written and a lovable saga.

    The Old Kingdom

    Legends

    The Untold Legend

    Salvation

    Marcasite

Marcasite the old man who shows no compassion when it comes to kids innocence, his stories are rather adult, extremely talented writing, and compelling stories.

Painful Revelations is about Alain the Sabre it is a version of TLC with intriguing plot twists.

    Painful Revelations A Must Read

Through the eyes of a girl deal with what TLC would have been like if your sister was found by maze and our hero was found by Jack and his Bandits, a awesome tale of heroism and friendship at its finest.

Fable TLC: Through The Eyes Of A Girl

    MJLover

A great member, a former HK, this story at the moment only has a prologue I’d love to see more added to it, so if anyone feels like contacting him to finish his story then go for it. His story follows a man who has spent his life writing the perfect story about his own life, sounds weird but it’s a great read with a lot of effort into it.

Being A Hero Is Not Easy

    MRFLIBBLE

Mr Flibbles very cross, that no one has barely looked at his fiction, give it a look, the writer is a very talented one he operates mainly in Black & White fiction, so he is very experienced, this story is remarkably well written, a excellent read.

    The Smallest Person

    Nohtanoj

A veteran of the board, he has created two tales, they need finishing, but nevertheless truly brilliant. A great reader and member, with valuable insight always offers excellent feedback.

    Balverine Hunters

    A Child's Tragedy

    seeminglypointless

A former MK, he wrote one story about the view from a mountain its not exactly a compelling story but the description is by far the best thing about it.

    The Mount

    Teh Poptart Kid

AKA dude123456hasreturned wrote one story called the friendship, which is every sense of the word, a true landmark of the board. It follows a group of teenagers through a adventure through a forest to save their friend from a hungry Balverine, along the way they meet a hermit. What more can I say? Read it!

    The Friendship A Must Read

    Twelthdoctor

From what I’ve seen of twelthdoctor so far he/she is quite possibly the most intelligently blasé writer who has established themselves as one of the best on the board a excellent writer, who favours short updates with pure flow, no planning seems to occur this at this moment is a very G o o d [Good] thing which has bred a excellent writer.

A fresh look on the character Maze, it begins with the revival of Maze.

    Maze Escape From Death

A new world follows the old hero Maze brought back from the dead and put into a new body, in a different time this story is influenced by Fable 2.

    A New World

    Wrongfire

He’s a brilliant artist, and created one story which he gave up, he drew my picture of Ragnak, and created a great story which deserves to be finished, check out this story.

Fable, Fall Of The Heroes, chapter 1,2 & 3

Fable: Fall Of The Heroes, Chapter 4&5

    Zhivago

Unrivalled saga master, doctor of love, AKA Doc Z. This user has established themselves as a definitive poet with many tales tucked into his mind. The style is unique and tasteful, presenting stories open to the readers imagination leaving you with open freedom of what the story is. A true master, and a must read.

    Little Hazel

    The Binder Of Bowerstone

    Tell me that I'm beautiful

    You were my everything

    The Festival

    A Feral Lament

    To Capture my Horizons

    To Find my Melody

I am so scared without you

    To Battle Entrenched

    Alice n' Andy

    Bedtime Story

    The Hero and his Wife

A Tale of the Darkwood Bordello

    The Adventures Of Hedgetrimmer

    Help Build This Thread:

We lose track of a lot of fan fictions, this thread was created for the purpose of storing all the best and most popular fictions so that they may be remembered, and read by new members of the board.

As such, I do not read every single thread, so I may miss a great story every now & then. If you see any way you can help me with this thread, feel free to offer opinions and idea’s. If you are asking me to add a story or writer please supply a link to both the story, and the writers profile & if possible a general summary of the story. If it is something else from a story and or writer, then please go into detail and think if the idea would benefit the thread.

Note: just because you post information, doesn’t mean it will be added, help given must be of some high quality.

I'd really would've hoped this got more replies this is a list of the best stories that have been posted, but do people care? Naa! People don't want history they want the writers of today. Still I suppose each era needs its own writers, hey thats quite profound that you can quote me if you like.

HahahhaHAHAHahahah.  I wonder if anyone else gets that joke/quote.  I think it describes people pretty accurately, though.  We have enough stories to read as it is without the classics, but I did read the "invention of the firearm" coz you said it was funny and it was.

Re: Those That Paved The Way

On behalf of everyone in the forums, I'd like to give you our greatest thanks for making this, even if lots of people don't.  It's great that you've gone through all the trouble to make this.  I find it really useful to go here and find a G o o d [Good] story whenever I get bored.

This is an unappreciated thread, so I thought I'd show my appreciationStick out tongue [:P]

To everyone who cares, I ask you to show appreciation to Hermit and tell him how great he is for doing this and being such an awesome writer (remember to spell Hermit with a capitol).

Re: Those That Paved The Way

I think this is a great thread. I got the urge to write about a year ago, and it hasn't left me since. I write mostly science fiction, but writing a Fable fanfic gives me a great opportunity to really flex my fantasy writing muscles. I've got one going, and am going to wait until I have it mostly finished to post it here. We'll see what people think about it.

I think, and it seems from the other posters that this topic deserves to be highlighted to all new writers, and readers, to show the very best, Tongue Tied [:S] or "what level of quality is to be expected"

I know most stories I've linked to are basicly written, but they are/were the most popular stories.
