    freezing problem during tutorial

I have just bought a new computer with Vista but have found that B&W2 always freezes during the tutorial between introducing the gold and silver scrolls, you can just see the house in the corner of the screen. I am unable to exit the program through any keyboard commands and have to restart my machine. I have already tried changing the compatibility to XP sp2, lowering the spec and installing the patch and none of them have made any difference.

    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

    ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series

    and directx10

anyone know how I can get this game to work???

    Re: freezing problem during tutorial

I have  a similar PC and never had a problem with B&W2.
Main difference is  I have a HD2600(DX10) card, now at first I used the 690G built in graphics(DX9).
I had problems with old drivers and the solution was uninstall all the old ATI drivers reboot and install the latest set.
Installing new over old just didn't work right.

    Re: freezing problem during tutorial

Okay, sorry for double post but I fixed the problem, what you need to do is
    1) Uninstall the game
    2) Reinstall the game
    3) Patch the game to patch 1.1 then patch again to 1.2
    4) Right click the games icon and click Properties
    5) Tick run this program in compatability mode for: Windows XP Service Pack 2
    6) Tick Disable visual themes
    7) Tick Run as Administrator
Glasses [8)] Click Apply and your ready to go.
