    Movie Re-Uploading Question

If I take a movie offline via my studio profile, it will still be visible on my TM Online list right? And if I re-upload it onto the site, will all the reviews & movie info still be there?

Also, on a sort of related note, I took one film offline a while back, and I have tried numerous times to re-upload it onto the site, but every time, I get "Server Error! The uploaded movie file seems to be an invalid movie file". Know what the dealio is? Tongue Tied [:S]

Yes, only movies of yours that are banned will not be visible on your profile.

    Nope.

Not sure what that is all about, sounds like something is wrong with the .wmv file itself.  Tongue Tied [:S]

    Nope.

Actually, in my experience, if you take down a movie, then re-upload it later (assuming you haven't altered the movie in any way... the .trl, .wmv, etc are exactly as they were when you first uploaded it) then it WILL retain it's old reviews, etc... going back up under the same movie number.  Just like it was never removed!

I've done this with several of my older movies that I initially removed for space, then later re-uploaded when I won more studio space.

I've also done it to restore a glitched movie (took it down, then immeditately re-uploaded it.  ta da, movie back and no longer glitched!)

As to your 'Server Error', I'm not sure what that is.  For that one you may have to export it again and upload as a new film...

    Oh.  Confused [*-)]

Thought that only worked if your movie got that odd glitch, thanks for the info.  Smily [:)]

No worries.  I should point out that it doesn't always work.  I had one movie reject ('Starting Over') when I tried to re-upload it.  In fact, I may have received that same 'Server Error', but I can't remember.  Guess it depends on the state of the files on the server, as well...  *shrug*

    Re: Movie Re-Uploading Question

Hello again. Just popping back in because I have a problem. I figured since my most recent release (The link in my sig) was a bit of a dissapointment, I'd just re-upload it after taking it offline and put it back up after a few minutes. Well, just like all (Yes, all) of my other offline films, I am now unable to re-upload it. I get the same error message as always (Server error! The movie file you uploaded seems to be an invalid movie file!)

I read that Biggs mentioned I would have to re-export it and upload it again as a new film, but that sounds like something may happen that I don't want to happen. If I export it again, everything would be erased doing that again, right? *sigh* Tongue Tied [:S]

Unless of course I can get the problem fixed. I know nothing happened to the file as I left it offline for literally 2 minutes before attempting to re-upload, and I 'd love if anybody had suggestions. Smily [:)]
