thumbs down, thumbs up for threads.

I always feel the need for a button like this to express my opinion about a thread without bumping it up to the top of the page.

Whilst i am not criticising the bump system, i just feel like this button would be helpful especially with the amount of "dog" "co-op" etc. threads that come up in the fable 2 forums.

We have a star system. Use that?

Also, if you think a thread needs locking because it's a duplicate and is already being discussed, then use the report abuse button.

When you're in the thread, you click the star you wantto give the thread. 1 = bad, 5 = G o o d [Good].

Re: thumbs down, thumbs up for threads.

Look at the top left of the thread, underneath 'Last post a few seconds ago...' and to the left of 'Enable E-mail Subscription'.
If a thread has not been rated, then there will be 5 blank stars. Click on the fifth star to give it 5 stars, click on the first star to give it 1 star. 5 stars = G o o d [Good] thread. 1 Star = bad thread. After multiple people have rated it the rating gets averaged. So if you rate this thread 5 stars now (I already rated it 1, to show you) it will move up to somewhere in between.

If you look at the thread on the main forum page, you'll see the amount of stars a thread has to the right of the title. Click on this to see who rated the thread and what rating they gave it.

Make sense? Stick out tongue [:P]

kk my problem was i wasnt going in the thread to rate it

i guess that helps but it doesn't seem to make enough of an impact.

Well, what kind of impact would you rather..? Tongue Tied [:S] Why would 'thumbs up and thumbs down' by any different to stars? It's just peoples opinion on the thread, it's not supposed to do anything drastic to the thread, or otherwise that would be unfair.

Re: thumbs down, thumbs up for threads.

The star system is a waste of time, as the original poster always rates their threads with 5 stars in the vain hope that people will read it...

When I can be bothered I always rate a thread with a 1 star as it is pointless ... Classic [:classic:]
