Aw thats actually quite a toughy, lets see.
I care about my characters alot, I've created them and developed them, well I still am even when they are off screen there's allsorts to be done. Which makes it hard to choose, but If I had to pick one...
It is said that a writer puts a bit of themselves into their work and I believe that. A number of characters may have some traits inherited from me. But none more so than my namesake... if you take the question refering to the series and not the ship then I would say Captain Mark Strider.
Mark, is me in a sense but he's also not me, originally written for roleplay, (Couldn't resist putting myself in the command chair) He's the first character created prior to the series and a number of ideas have been spawned from him. I use him for prototyping and the like. He's a character of his own morals and is there when needed for example Memories, he is there when Lane needs someone to talk too.
If you want me to pick a favourite out of the Destiny Crew... um lets see,
Maybe... Lane, she's a character that has undergone alot of development, visually/mentally. She's strict but not heartless, and ties a number of elements together (Memories). She also has a number of changes coming up... oh can't say any more

But I'll say it is hard to pick a favourite, they all have their own quirks and stories to tell (although I may never tell them all), and they have developed/are developing in their own ways.
