Welcome, to the first ever TMO's Best Sketch Contest, hosted by yours truly, Andy_Inc.

Well, you're probably wondering what the hell this is all about. Chances are, you think I'm an arrogant *** who thinks that my contest is the best sketch contest ever. Well, I do, but ambiguous title names aside, this little fun-ky contest is to see who can make the best and, most importantly the funniest skit, for super-ultimate bragging rights and a bunch of ies!
Judges for this contest are myself (Andy_Inc) and the legendary Sparky1512, who are always looking for a laugh! If your sketch fails to amuse however... the consequences will be drastic... *Pulls out Giant Stretcher*.

Your sketch will be judged based on how much it makes us laugh... Simple as that. After the deadline is done, judging commences, where Sparky and I will scrutinize each entry until the cows go home to find the best. Your films will also be reviewed by either myself or Sparky, but a review won't necessarily mean that you've won the competition, and a bad review won't mean that you're out of it either.

This competition is open to absolutely everyone!

DEADLINE IS: FRIDAY 18th JULY 2008

Winners will be announced on the Aussie Show, on the 26th of July 2023 2008.


We all know that rules were made to be broken, but if you break any of these, then your film will be ineligible.

1. ORIGINALITY!
Be as original as possible with your skit! The more original, the more likely your chance of winning. A little spoof skit is also a cool way to go, but nothing 300 related! Any spartan references will have your film automatically disqualified!

2. SKIT MUST BE NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES AND 5 SECONDS.
No epic 6 parters just for a little sketch, guys. I'm being really lenient with the 5 minutes 5 seconds too (to perhaps allow for the little curtain to close at the end of your film), so no exceptions to that rule. Preferred and recommended time frame for your sketch is 1-3 minutes.

3. UNLIMITED ENTRIES
You are allowed to enter as many entries as you want... However, they all must be different from each other and individual sketches, each named (see rule 4). This contest is for an individual sketch, and not a sketch-show in general.

4. NAMES
Your sketch/es must also have a title. No really just putting "TMO's Best Sketch Contest Entry" as A) it's too long, and B) we'll probably have 10 zillion of those running around. Name your sketch something clever, something memorable, something original, as this will certainly aid your film.

5. MAKE IT FUNNY!
The golden rule. Obviously, it has to be a comedy, or have some comical elements. No BBC documentaries on the flight pattern of a seagull. It's supposed to make us laugh, not make us want to gauge our eyes out with a fork.

6. POST ON THIS THREAD!
After uploading your entry, you must post a link to the sketch on this thread.

7. HAVE FUN!
Of course, this contest is all about having fun! Though the prizes may encourage and inspire you to abandon your relationships and life just so you may work on your entry, the main thing is that you have fun creating your entry and hopefully watching everybody elses entry too, because I'm sure Sparky and myself will!


Well, it's hard to collaborate a prize with any sort of value nowadays, but I think I have just the ingenious package for the winner...

Every time I try to get out they pull me BACK IN!

On my last (and only) appearance on the R&K show, Ken made mention on how it seemed all my movies were made for contests and competitions.

So, there I was making my next movie, which happens to be a sketch comedy, entirely for my own edification and not for any contest or competition and I stumble upon this thread. I mean, I just have to enter, don't I?

Of course there is that pesky little July 18th deadline that I have to meet.

(And I might get sucked into that Sixty Second Super Hero competition as well)

Well, I know that Kit's Advertising Comp is running simultaneously, and may blur the rule that the film must made specifically for this competition... Now, to clear this up as best I can... A spoof advert is also a skit or sketch and therefore is eligible for this competition, however, if it is an ad, it must be entered in either Kit's competition or this competition. Say an ad that's been entered in both competitions and wins them both, it won't really be fair, not to mention that will also cause conflict and bias being entered in both competitions.

However, this is not to say, that you can't make a different ad for each

ahhh, jeez, there's something to be said about gainful unemployment. I wish I was gainfully unemployed again.

So many competitions, so little time. This is a 'un, Andy and Sparky - wish I had the time to come up with an entry. The upside of course is that I'm looking forward to viewing the results.
