Cask of Amontillado *Hitchcock Contest Entry* Production thread!

Yep, I finally have an entry for Sg's Alfred Hitchcock contest. I decided to do a story by one of my favorite authors, Edgar Allan Poe.

Revenge......a powerful and deadly emotion that can drive a soul to insanity. For Montressor though, it is his companion. After enduring countless insults from Fortunato, he begins plotting his vengeance.

Playing the role of "Fortunato" is Pookashells. I sent an e-mail to another TMOer asking if he would like to play Montressor, I'll update you later on that.

Well, I have gotten about 0.1% done in AMM. I have everything together except the audio. (music, vo's, and sfx), but i'll do those towards the end.

Well, that's all the information I have for this project for now. Keep a check on this thread for more updates.

Well this is my favorite story by the man. Ive seen it portrayed in different ways, and it will be very interesting to see how you fulfill the ultimate goal in this cunning display of revenge. I really wanna see this one. Perfect setup for a Hitchcockian-type , mindscrew.

Yeah, probably one of my favorites tooSmily [:)] Poe is by far, one of my favorite authors. I've never done a film based off of his stories, so I thought it was about time, and this one just happened to pop up in my mind^^ [^^]

See, I can't be bothered reading books, which is why I'm thankful for directors like you, Frosty, who take 1000 page epics and turn them into films where I just watch the events unfold on screen.

Can't wait to export this for you Stick out tongue [:P]

I love this story so this sounds very exciting to me. I will have to tell MGM about it too!

Re: Cask of Amontillado *Hitchcock Contest Entry* Production thread!

Well, production is now about 0.2% done. I was 100% done in AMM, but wasn't happy with the outcome, so I decided to start over.

Im still waiting for a response from the TMOer I asked to play Montressor.

I'll post more updates, as I get more done on this.

I, too, absolutely love this splendid short story, and actually did some minor research on it during my time as an undergraduate.  G o o d [Good] luck with your film.  I can't wait to see the outcome.  Smily [:)]

I'm also excited to see who is playing Montressor...

Re: Cask of Amontillado *Hitchcock Contest Entry* Production thread!

Well, sorry about not posting any updates, not really many to post. I've been busy the past few days and haven't had time to update the thread or post any updates. about the only update I have is this:

filming is still about 0.2% I have re-shot the first scene in AMM at least 6 or 7 times. I'll shoot the scene, watch it, decide it's not what i'm looking for and re-shoot it. So, production is still at the same spot.

As soon as I get threw with a few things I have to do around the house today, i am going to try and do more on AMM and hopefully get past the first sceneStick out tongue [:P]

Re: Cask of Amontillado *Hitchcock Contest Entry* Production thread!

    Big update here!:

Filming is 100% done in AMM!Big Smile [:D]. I've just got to start making the overlays for it, get my sound files together, and I can begin PP. I'm looking to have this movie out before August 20th, as that is when the new college semester starts. At this rate, I may meet my "quota"Stick out tongue [:P] Also got a screenie:

Sorry there's only one, print screen replacement has been acting up lately and only took one out four screenies I had planned to postTongue Tied [:S]

I realise it's been like a week since an update on this, i've just been finishing up somethings for college (getting my schedule, singing papers, etc.) So, if all goes well, I am hoping to see this out before the 20th.

    Nice art Frosty

I must now resolve myself that the frosty has become a graphic designer in his own right.
Like was once so heartfully put in the movie "Harry and the Hendersons"...run free little bob, run free.

All kidding aside, awsome art - and knowing a bit about you rendition of the film? I'm excited for you. Up []

Thanks for the support Elbow, and everyoneBig Smile [:D]

I've got most of the overlays made for it (got 2 more to go), I just got to round up a few SFX, and find a few music tracks, and get the lines and then I can begin PP. I'm really stoked about this project, and I can't wait to get it into PP to edit it and release itSmily [:)]

Thank you for the kind words NukeSmily [:)]

I've got all of the overlays made, and the SFX together. Just waiting on some VO's and then PP will beginSmily [:)]

I gotta say, I am really stoked about this project. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time (make a E.A Poe movie that is) and thanks to Sg's contest, it's the perfect time to do soSmily [:)]

I was wanting to have 2 versions of the movie, a Hi-res (uploaded to blip.tv or youtube) and the regular TMO version. But, looking at the way things currently are, the TMO version may never see the light of day (i'm hoping that's not the case). But if that is the case, the Hi-res version will be uploaded to the above mentioned sites. But yeah, as stated, Im looking for a late July, early to mid August release. I'm trying to get it out before August 20th, due to the fact that I won't have much time to work on it if I don't.

this project is not dead. Ok, not much to update. Production is still at the same point it was before: AMM is 100% but I'm waiting to do PP.

So, regarding that post, since TMO is looking at about a month downtime, and this is an entry for a competition that has a deadline, I'll upload a hi-res version to Blip.tv Smily [:)]

Man, I really can't wait to see that hi-res version on Blip.tv. I had a lot of fun playing my role and can't wait to see how it turns out. Sounds like things are going well, I wish you the best of luck with this project. Up []

Re: Cask of Amontillado *Hitchcock Contest Entry* Production thread!

Ok, a few updates and a few changes.

The role of Montressor has been taken up by Sparky1512.

Production is still as it was in the last 2 post

And instead of uploading the high-res version to Blip, i'll be uploading a high export to TMU
i'll also be doing a bit of outside editing for the beginning and ending credits.

The movie is still looking at a release date before the 20th of August, but not exactly sure when.More info coming soon
