Poll/Petition for a new search bar

When I use the search bar, I find it's really hard to find what I'm really looking for. I can't be really explicit, because even threads that don't match completely turn up. Thus causing me to look through multiple pages until I find the exact thread/related topic I'm looking for. So I would like to start a poll/petition for the Lionhead moderators/dev team to create a new search bar with advance features and such. This is not only for me though. It would benefit a lot of other users by helping them find what they're looking for. Also, it would help reduce flooding on the forums (especially the Fable 2 forum).

So please Lionhead, I ask for a new search bar to be constructed to better the forums, and reduce flooding!

Re: Poll/Petition for a new search bar

To be honest, the search bar is indeed terrible and of no use at all. I tried to find a post of me from the past with the advanced search and I knew exactly what I was searching for (key words) but the search only turned up with rubbish! Finally I had to go back through my posts (> 10 pages) to find it. Rambo [:rambo:]

I can't really blame anyone not using the search and I don't advice to use it either anymore. So if a question for a problem was already discussed I don no longer say "Use the forum search!", instead I explain the problem again. It is far less stuggle for me and also for the people asking the question. Wink [;)]

Finally I would also like to see more search results on one page and key words highlighted in the results. Maybe some more options to sort the results would be G o o d [Good] to.

And now do something and improve that search! Angry []

Everyone should boycott Ubisoft and their new Online DRM for PC games. This has gone too far in the reduction of the rights of users and I am sick of it! It is not made to fight piracy, but to control the customer.

The search is horrible - for searching on the forums i use google, find everything much easier... Just seems like everything on the forums got worse after the new aspx forums, crashes all the time, search function is crap, is slower and the list goes on.

In complete agreement, it causes me to often search manually through hundreds of pages, for a simple quote that'll give me a giggle then moan at how I've wasted two hours searching for something that I should be able to find in mere seconds. As maggot said the forums have had many promblems since the update. Bored [:bored:]

Hey what's this? Is it a plane, a bird? No! It's petition month!

I agree, the search function is nigh useless since the forum change. Hell, I couldn't find threads made a mere days ago with search.Sad [:(]

Yes, the search can be a bit iffy, but we had to use LIVE search of course... for obvious reasons. Smily [:)]

Can we maybe do a test here, let’s think of two searches we want to find and we'll do a test whether Google or LIVE search finds more... I think they'll both find roughly the same items...

I've been able to use the search bar easily as of late and it seems it's faster than it used to be.  Smily [:)]

One thing I've noticed is the search bar doesn't search the Your Movies forum, you have to be in that forum when you use the search to get results, but it does search the forum when using the advanced search.
