Weight on Gold in the Game

Today, I was watching some various videos on youtube and I was thinking, "how much will gold impact your experience?"

The answer might seem obvious, but I'll explain.

Because of the pub games, people are obtaining millions around 2 months before release.  Say you start the game with around 10 mil.  Will the game mold around you wealth?  Or, will all the townspeople be completely oblivious to the fact that you have that much.  Plus, I think having that much will no doubt make the game easier in some way or another, but just how easy?  In the game, lionhead stated that even though you could buy an extremely powerful weapon, "it wouldn't be useful unless you had the skills to wield it." But even then, having that weapon is still a really G o o d [Good]

So basically, I'm just wondering if gold will make the game too easy or if it will just be a fun factor for things like buying all of Albion, or just collecting numerous items.

no i doubt having lots of gold will make the game easier.
it will make you richer but it wont make the game any easier.

you could buy most powerful weapon but you will need the experice to wield it like in the 1st game (but hopefully each fizzeek level will let you weield a more powerfull wepon unliek teh 1st game you get level 3 fizzeek and you weield master great hammers it would of been betetr if you needed max fizzeek to get master great hammers weildable)

Pretty much that's all being rich does to make the game easier, you have better equipment, that's it, however one could say having lots of money will make it easier to get even more money assuming you know hoe to play property tycoon Devious [:evious:].

What it cut's out on the other hand is having to earn 100 mil doing the same job over and over and over and over for a measly 100 gold a sword (thats at max level for blacksmithing) or whatever job you are doing. and whilst the pub games may be much the same in being just as repetitive you "can" (will = if you don't let petty morallty get in your way) earn far more than the jobs.

I hated the hammers in Fable 1. Way too slow and clunky. Plus it was abnormally large. It looked wierd carrying a hammer that was taller than you.
You have enemies? G o o d [Good], that means you actually stood up for something.

Re: Weight on Gold in the Game

I see two main elements in the game: buying everything for which money is needed, and killing monsters to move the storyline along which needs a hero who can kill monsters.

Having lots of gold will make buying things much easier, obviously.

Killing monsters and winning in combat is already guaranteed because the death system automatically brings you back to life if your health goes to zero.  Without any skill you should be able to kill anything just by sitting there basically.

Back to the gold and making things easier; I think the key to buying everything is investing in real estate and eventually reinvesting your rent or profit.  By reinvesting real estate profit your income will increase exponentially.  I think things like rewards and working at jobs are only useful to start to make cash to invest in real estate.  Remember there is something like 100 million in gold in real estate and once you own a few million or tens of millions of property your income will be incredible.

Re: Weight on Gold in the Game

someone said ur weapon will be lvled and what i hoe yuor not refering to games such as "world of warcraft" or other games in which u have to be a certain lvl to use a certain item. i hope they use the same kindof thing as in fable 1 or if ur to weak to lift a particular weapon u wont be able to use/swing it but instead its weight will make bend down and un sheathing it will only let u drag it accross the floor

(sorry for double post) but another thing is if u did not have the required skills and were button mashing or something there could be a chance to hurt yourself with the weaponu are using.

You can Never have too much money

In five hundred years, no hero has been there to fight the battles, kill the bandits, slaughter the Hobbes, and when Albion is in its time of need, a hero rises to the task! - Chickens
