The Movies: Blank screen after Lionhead -logo.

I recently bought The Movies SE just to find out it doesn't run properly on my PC:
When I run it the Lionhead logo animation plays but then the screen goes blank. I can hear the sounds fine though.
I also tried uninstalling it and playing the demo from Steam but it does the same thing.
I've installed WMP10 and DirectX9.0c, disabled ffdshow, uninstalled VobSub and tried switching off my secondary monitor without any difference.

    System specs:
    AMD Athlon XP 2800+
    2.13GHz RAM
ATI Radeon 9550 SE (Connect 3D) with the latest Omega drivers
GPU has 128MB RAM and supports PixelShader2.0

Any advice would be nice Tongue Tied [:S]

EDIT: I tried to run the StarMaker, but it just showed a gray window.

Could be either your WMP10 causing trouble or the ATI card. Tongue Tied [:S]

    From http://www.systemrequirementslab.com :
    Video Card
Recommended: 3D Hardware Accelerated Card required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 64 MB Hardware T&L capable video card (NVIDIA GeForce4+ / ATI Radeon 9000+)
You Have: RADEON 9550 (ATI RADEON 9550 AGP (0x4153))

    Video RAM: Required - 64 MB , You have - 128 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
    Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 1.1 , You have - 2.0
    Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 1.3 , You have - 2.0

Shouldn't be WMP10 either as the codecs are backward compatible...

Well I've tried only once to run The Movies with a ATI card and ended up with the rest running but not The Movies, or The Movies running but not the rest. Indifferent [:|]
