Australia to get same version as the rest of the world?

I apologize if this has been answered.
When GTA 4 came out, Australia got a dulled down version of the game, less blood, less features with prostitutes WTF [:wtf:] etc. ( this was due to the fact that Australia has no R rating for games, so ether they get outright rejected or the developer has to submit a weaker version of the game.)

does anyone know if Fable 2 will be the same wherever it's released?

I sure as hell don't want a weakened Fable 2.

    TY!

Well Fable 2 is rated M I believe so I guess its possible.

If thats the case just order the game online from somewhere outside of australia.

Okay looked around aaaaand... yeah I got nothing Sad [:(]

Sorry buddy. Guess we'll have to wait and see on that answer but I hear Fallout 3 is having issues with being released in Australia so it might be likely to expect with the controversial content in Fable 2 there will be people fighting against it as well.

I hope not, that would really suck. But as Saent said, buying it from overseas is always an option. I wouldn't hesitate.

It would be really *** if Aus got a toned down version of the game because I've already fully paid for a pre-order from EB and I don't much fancy paying for another copy of the game plus postage and handling Angry [:@].. though if it is indeed rated M then there is nothing we have to worry about. Bloody hell I hope we get an R rating soon this is ridiculous.

I don't think you can tone it down that much. From what I've seen theres not alot of blood(if any really) and you can't see anything sexual. I think the worse things in it (from an overconcerned parent point of view) is beheadings, killings, and prostitutes. Not that big of a deal to me but I don't buy that violent video games make children kill people.

dang!  I keep checkin' out other english speaking countries to move to and they keep getting more full of FAIL.

anyway, from all I can tell, it looks like everyone who should have any idea about it being OK says it's coming.

Yeh, I also doubt Fable II will be toned down for Aussies but if it is then I will have to take the option of ordering it from the US Stick out tongue [:P]

Re: Australia to get same version as the rest of the world?

i will not be happy at all if they tone fable 2 down...i live in australia but if they tone it down i am not going to be a happy gamer....well i will be because i have fable 2 but not as happy cuz i kno its not the real version...but i think it will be highly unlikely because the release date is only 2 or 3 days diffrent from america and UK so i dnt think they had enough time to change the game

Re: Australia to get same version as the rest of the world?

I don't think they'll tone it down... Fable and GTA are both M games, but GTA has alot more graphic content and adult material in it then fable. I can't see anything in Fable that reaches half as bad as what's in GTA, and I can't imagine them needing to cut anything out...

yo dude south australian attorney general micheal atkinson is the only member of government that is opposing an R rating (ive checked for a new rating to be added all the atterney gfenerals have to agree and he is the only 1 opposed so by his opposition he is stopping the movement)Angry []

Re: Australia to get same version as the rest of the world?

I very much doubt we are getting an edited version of Fable II. The game has already been classified by the OFLC and has recieved a M (second highest rating in Australia, sought of half way between the ESRB's Teen and Mature clasifications).

If the game were to have been edited it first would have been rejected by the OFLC then re-submitted which would have meant it would have been mentioned on Gamespot or IGN. Just think of all the news articles that followed GTA or Fallout 3 after they were rejected. And besides as people have pointed out it has nowhere near the graphical content of GTA or Fallout neither in its blood and gore or sexual content.

I consider it highly unlikly Fable II was ever going to get edited either, it really is quite a tame game by comparision to many of the other controversial titles that have come out recently. If we did get an edited version I would eat my own hat!
