I wouldn't bet on a BW3 coming about. You're better off just getting spore for now.

Spore is fun, but not as fun as you think. Anyway, I got it at G o o d [Good]will for $10 but it is not the usual case. It has a slim case with one CD and no description on the back. What is it?

Lionhead just  like all other companies just want to stay in  business. That involves dumping  games and spin off's that just don't make money....
Just a sad fact of life....

    Re: BNW3:)

I usually post only in the Fable 2 forums. But my love for lionhead started with Black and White and I wanted to return to my roots for a bit. Lionhead sadly shut down the Black and White section of their company. They have said they plan to reopen it after Fable 2 and some other games come out (Dimitri Project).

I wish BW3 would come out but its looking to not happen till games are sweet where we would wear a glove and actually be the hand....

    Re: BNW3:)

B&W1 was VR glove compatible that's what the  v1.3 patch was for.
It even had a special quest for force feedback mice/VRG that only worked if you had the hardware. That was nearly 8y ago.

I'm sorry but in my opinion the Fable games beat the black and white games. I'd rather see Dimitri and Fable 3 before BNW3. Just my opinion though

I enjoyed  Fable but for me  it was just a fill in game with others while waiting for B&W2.

    Re: BNW3:)

I bought B&W2 and thought it was weak compared to #1. Especially without multiplayer. It tried to turn an awesome game into an RTS meets Sim City which wasn't enjoyable to me.

    I agree that I'd rather see a Fable 3.

honestly, I loved Fable 1 and Fable 2... but after getting B&W2... I'm enthralled. I'm just like ..wow how could I have ever missed this game when it came out? Way more enjoyable than Fable 2 imo.

I must be the only one here who HATES Black & White 2 with a passion only for completely ruining the brilliant concept of the first so much.

    Re: BNW3:)

The Fables are great and all, but I think a B&W3 is got so much potention if it turns back to the roots keeping only the G o o d [Good] aditions (like war Ogre [:gre:]) from 2 and refining 1's formula, with awesome multiplayer.

And Bidblood, I can't say I actually hate B&W2, but when I think about 1 and all 2 could have been, it does make me sad Sad [:(]

    Re: BNW3:)

Yeah, right...  The way things look now, Lionhead is going to have a tough time getting to glory.  So far it looks as though they have been churning out G o o d [Good], but somewhat incomplete games time and again.

Black & White was great, and had excellent multiplayer and skirmish functionality.  Especially with the expansion pack, Creature Isle, the gameplay was excellent; but B&W was especially prone to bugs and the like.  One time on creature isle, i found the workers from my little egyptian settlement going to cut trees where there weren't any trees -- walking all the way around the mountain my Temple was on, around the beach, heading to no where in particular.  I picked them up, dropped them back at the village and they went back on the same path.  Now given, they have probably fixed most of the bugs by now with patches, but still...

Black & White 2 was... OK.  To be honest, I was enthralled for a while, but after that i was just disappointed.  They gutted the games potential by removing all multiplayer and skirmish modes from the game, leaving us to play the boring campaign missions, which only got sufficiently difficult in the 7th and 9th lands.  Now, Battle of the Gods was VERY G o o d [Good], as not only did it add several new buildings, miracles and the like, but they added better AI, made the enemy a God instead of a tribal leader (so now you have to fight against miracles), and made the game much harder.
    Gulp.
Gone are the days of simply parking archers on your wall to take out approaching enemies easily; the enemy now MOVES on your turf in FORCE, with lots of troops and siege weapons, and they WILL kill you if you aren't careful.  Annnd before long you will find yourself being shot at by FIREBALLS!  Plus, it removes *all* of the bothersome, loooong tutorials and thrusts you right into the thick of the action from the start, which is a serious plus in my book as I hate tutorials.  The downsides are that they cut the lands in the campaign to *3* instead of *9*, and there is STILL no multiplayer functionality, or skirmish capability.  Plus, my computer crashed on the final land for some reason.  Still fun though, and I really recommend buying the expansion if you own B&W2. Big Smile [:D]

All in all, Lionhead REALLY needs to start working on their games more instead of rushing them out the door, trying to keep themselves afloat and make money.  The best they can hope for right now is that Fable 2 sells well enough and long enough so they have the breathing space to make a really, really G o o d [Good] game, and hopefully pack it with the necessary fun content we are all looking for.  With the XBox live support for modding it, Fable 2 should go over well, and if it does, Lionhead should have the money and, most importantly Time necessary to make something really nice, like Black & White 3.  But for the love of all thats holy (no pun intended), I hope they put in skirmish and multiplayer this time. I'm sorry, but spore absolutely sucked.  It was way too simple.  I kept playing it hoping that it would get better, but it never did!

    Re: BNW3:)

Spore did suck. Although it was pretty immersive getting up to the space portion, it just shot downhill from there.  With all the hype they added for the space portion, expectations were exceedingly high, but it just turned out to be just watching the first couple stages and increasingly repetitive missions, attacks, and repopulating 100's of computer generated planets. Also the ending was extremely anti-climatic once you reached the center of the universe.

As for B&W, I personally like it better then the fable series.  I liked fable when I first started it, but then it got extremely repetitive when I buy out all the houses, kill forever re-spawning guards, and having the people forgive me, by killing a bunch of bandits, after I killed enough people to populate a metropolis. With B&W, it's always fun to throw a handful of villagers into the ocean while they pitifully drown, not knowing how to swim.

B&W 2 could definitely be a lot more harder, even Battle of the Gods was too easy.  I beat B&W 2 within a day, by being G o o d [Good], then did the exact same thing by being E v i l [Evil] and conquering; then I wanted to build a gigantic army by building dozens of skyscrapers only to find myself without an opposition because they all flocked to my city.
I remember playing B&W 1 and challenging myself by not throwing any scaffolds/food/wood into the vortex for the next land and having to train my pet constantly in ways I thought was not possible for the technology back then.  B&W 1 took me a couple days to beat by being G o o d [Good] and getting my creature on the side of G o o d [Good] without it starving himself.  The problem with B&W 1 is that it's not a great city builder; BOTG got it dead on with the giant maps and extra buildings, but the difficulty curve stays pretty flat.

If Lionhead can conbine B&W 1 with BOTG, it'll be dream come true
I'd better stop here before I start typing an essay
