    A final goodbye.

for those who have been on the fable site since fable TLC, and on big blue box before, for those (like me) who joined about 3 years ago while fable 2 was rumoured. and for all who came after. i would like to start the G o o d [Good]byes...fable 2 is out in like 20 days and as such spoilers will start appearing on the forums so im guessing alot of us will disappear.

it seems early to say our farewells but if i leave it any later everyone will be gone.

so i guess i wanted to thank anyone and everyone fable team or not who brought infomation on fable 2 to our attention, i have enjoyed the fanfics, the video diarys and all the news people have scraped from the darkest corners of the inter net to find.

we the fable fans have had our ups and downs (as have the lionhead dev's im sure) recently it was mentioned that some content was missing from the LE, but just think back to the first E3 to show that fable 2 teaser and think how close we are...it has been a long road but to all and everyone who made it possible and those who supported them i say thank you and G o o d [Good]bye.

feel free mention any parts of the fable development you found interesting and any fable news you remember being exited about.

my favorite moments were when PM first showed the dog, and the argument in the thread "i eat your babys RAWWW" that amused me. also the day when that guy (i forget his name) poster hundreds of spam threads on the forum like "can you use deoderant!?"

well feel free to post your thanks and final feelings as the wait for fable 2 finaly draws to and end.

i would also appreciate if a mod could make this a sticky

i hope we all enjoy playing fable 2 as much as we enjoyed speculating...thank you all and to all a G o o d [Good] night.

I'm one of those who crossed through the dangerous Intra-Webs to find this place.  Bye Bye for now, you are clearly a dedicated fan.

It is actually sad to say G o o d [Good]bye.  As long as I have been waiting for this game, once it comes and I beat it, I will have nothing left to wait for.

    Re: A final goodbye.

I think people will actually stick around after release and discuss the game further as of then we know what is actually in the game.

    Re: A final goodbye.

heh, i haven't posted much on this forum, but i checked it damn near daily... and i will probably take up the same idea as you, leaving to stay away from any spoilers... i've been able to stay away from all the spoilers so far, and i don't want to lose so close to the launch.

that doesn't mean i'm gone for ever, this isn't my "final G o o d [Good]bye"... as soon as Fable 3 is announced, i shall be right back here, posting and speculating with the rest of the diehards....

G o o d [Good] luck on all your adventures through Albion, and hopefully one of your characters will come close to being as awesome as mine, although its not likely, heh.

    Re: A final goodbye.

just to clarify this isnt a thread just about ME saying G o o d [Good]byle to YOU...im not an egomaniac (te he...relate everthing to fable) i started this as a place for everyone to say bye to everyone who they think has helped make the forums such a great source of infomation, sorry if it didnt seem like that (my english isnt that great...even though i like in the UK) so yep...i thought other people might like to say thanks to the mod's the dev's and each other and stuff before we all get absorbed by playing fable 2.

    regards

    erban.

    Re: A final goodbye.

People will always stick with these forums.  Sure, a certain percentage of members will leave over time, but just because a game is out doesn't mean there's no reason to return to its forums.  Take Lionhead's most recent game, The Movies, for example.  That game came out three years ago.  And The Movie's forums are still quite active.

The great thing about this community is that anytime a game is being made it attracts more members.  And once the game releases a G o o d [Good] number of those members continue to stick around.  Then the next game will begin development, more members will come, it will release, and a handful of those members will stay.  This community only gets bigger and bigger with each passing day.  You'd actually be amazed how many members of these forums came here for when Black & White was being developed.  Many of those members are still here.  And that game came out seven years ago.

That's the great thing about this community.  What keeps people coming back is not the games.  That's only what gets people here to begin with.  The games are only a small part of why people are here.  If you just wanted news about the latest Lionhead game they post it on their website, not the forums.  Or you could find news on the plethora of game news sites out there.  If you wanted to have discussions about Fable II there are certainly countless other forums out there.  If you wanted screenshots and videos most of those are on other sites as well.  So what keeps people coming back to this one?

It's the spirit of these forums.  It's the friends people make here.  For those of you who are dedicated forum users over time you will start to form bonds with your fellow forumites.  Many members from these forums have met.  Hung out together.  And then there's the pub that I run on the side.  Did you guys know that two members from two completely different countries met in the pub and then got along so well they decided to fly halfway across the world to meet?  Their names were Del and Leora.  And guess what?  They fell in love (I'm not kidding in the slightest).  They're now currently living with each other.  All because they happened to meet in the community pub.

This is an amazing community, one I'm continually proud to be a part of.  It's the spirit of this community which keeps people here, not the games.  I hope to see many of you guys sticking around for a long time. Smily [:)]

I (and the dev team as well I'm sure) will be looking through threads quite heavily post release.  If we see something that contains a spoiler we'll add [SPOILER] to the thread title.  And, as always, if you happen to see a spoiler you can always report it (or PM a moderator about it) to have the spoiler tags added to the thread title. Re: A final goodbye.

its not that I'M leaving. its just that with it being released in america first and all i dont want someone who rushed through the game spoiling the story for me. and more than that this was supposed to be a place to say G o o d [Good]bye to all the new info and stuff on fable 2, the speculation is over and i have enjoyed all the speculation.

its just an appreciation thread but to all the fable 2 forum members, we will soon be immeresed in fable 2 and i thought it would be a nice place to say G o o d [Good]bye to all the memorys of waiting for fable 2. i have certanly enjoyed it (even the spamming and arguing, it makes my day less boring)

    sorry for the missunderstanding.

edit: yep, thaks mort im sure you will, and have done a great job at all the spoiler stuff.

    well it sounded more dramatic than "a G o o d [Good]bye...for a bit" or "a finalG o o d [Good]bye to the speculation"

but you are right i worded that very badly.

Ok so I told my pup that someone said G o o d [Good]bye and this is the look he gave me (not joking)

It's really a mixed reaction. Like "Please dont go" and "How much longer am I gonna go through this" I think.. I might be wrong but either way he will be sad to hear people say G o o d [Good]bye none the less.
