This never came up for me until now, but some guy was just asking for a little furniture and I thought I'd be nice and help him out.  Got to the gift screen and there was no furniture to be found.  Can we not trade furniture?  I see a lot of people talking about doing it so this confuses me.  Maybe it's just something screwed up on my game?

Hmm this is kind of a bummer, another sort of furniture glitch: I was kinda farming furniture in Bloodstone cause the one in Bowerstone isn't selling any and it turns out that I have over 600 pieces of five-star furniture and none of those pieces are a child's bed. I know it wasn't a mistake on my part; the person just didn't sell it.

LOL.  I was actually doing the same thing today, I setup one house and kept buying any 5 star stuff for future houses... but only in Bloodstone because the one in Markets has NOTHING except a book, of all things.  And that one in Bloodstone never has the childrens beds or the stand-alone chairs exactly like you said.  If only I could steal chairs from the pubs like the drunks do.

It should be giftable, the furniture system supports it - it would be under items -> furniture in the menu.  This is all assuming there wasn't a decision from design late on to prevent it.

No furniture isn't giftable. I have been trading for a while and I can say with absolute certainty that furniture isn't giftable and I have all the patches released so far.
