    alternet pets

wouldn't you like to have different pets to have instead of your dog? such as dragons, bears, wolves etc... i suggest that fable 2 should have alternet pets that you can buy as a DLC   to be added to the games for about 600 microsoft points so you could have what ever pet you wanted anywhere in the game.
fable 2 rocks and it should have mounts and pets that u could buy

    Re: alternet pets

Having a wolf or a small bear would be fun, but they'd be too strong, and you can't completely tame wolves, and probably not bears, a dragon would just be stupid; by the time you get back from the spire it'd be the size of a house.

lol! that made me laugh so hard. i can picture it in my mind. The dock breaking with the weight of your dragon. When he licks you, you lose your head....

I think instead of having different animals, it would be better to have different types of dogs. (husky, rotweiler, chiwawa Stick out tongue [:P])

lol Also, a dragon would just incinerate everyone in the spire... soo, pointless again.

A fox would be nice =p or a terrier.Up []

I'd take garjian's "cheshire" cat over any of those, hands down.  That cat rocks! ^^ [^^]

One potion makes you larger and one potion makes you small and the one Lionhead didn't give you doesn't do anything at all...

Someone in an earlier post suggested a Badger with a gun (I'm guessing a flintlock) - so as long as we are here for a moon shot - I'd like to second that and the earlier Cheshire Cat suggetions.  Besides Dragons aren't real (does sarcasm work on the forums)? Zip it! [:#]

    Re: alternet pets

I'd have to say Beaver, that mo-fo could rob shops on my G o o d [Good] file so I wouldnt get bad karma, yeah they'd be my own shops but so long as the rent kept coming every five minutes then its a double win.

If it ever got caught I'd just be like "Hey that aint mine, whens the last time you heard of a guy owning a beaver so he could get it to rob his own shops?"

I would of liked to see an actual change in your dog rather than just the colour.

    Re: alternet pets

A dragon whelp would be nice to have at your side, would be a better fighter then your dog by far. (Since dragons actually take thousands of years to mature it would never need to be any other size.)

Not to mention the game spans over some 20 years and not many dogs even live that long. Alternate breeds of dog sounds G o o d [Good] too.

Mid-size cats about the size of a dog would be nice.

A secondary pet that rides on your shoulder too would be a G o o d [Good] add, but probably without use. (i.e. mouse, parrot, hawk)

Now here is why it likely won't happen for current content. You'd have to rescript the entire game to add in the "skins" for new pets, yes I says skins because that would be the easiest way to implement it. On the other hand if you wanted to have alternate pets just as DLC then the script for the DLC could be written to allow alternate pets only in the DLC are (i.e. Sumarkand). But it will certainly not be likely that you will ever get to play through the entire story with a different pet other then the dog that is scripted in.

    Re: alternet pets

I like the idea of alternate pets.

    The dog for digging.

    A dragon for arial attacks.

A war horse for combat, and also so we don't have to walk all over the place.

    And, a magic using cat.

Maybe these ideas can be used in Fable 3?

    Re: alternet pets

The only one I could see them doing is a wolf and only because it'd just be a new
skin for the dog model they've already got...

but since we're fantasizing here I'd want a mini scorpion like the ones from Fable 1.

A chimp.  Just think, they could tear your enemies' faces off!  It would be art imitating life!

Yes, I thought so. Just watch your step or I'm totally telling.

I wanted him to change between G o o d [Good] and E v i l [Evil], it's not that farfetched considering you grow horns yourself.

however with all those pets the player would lose that bond they have with the dog and see him more as a tool than your best friends
