Sex Change Potion Was An Outrage

Your people just destroyed a hard built character with a simple stupid decision.  Yes i understand the game said it was irreversible, but why was that?  There could have been a different ending to that quest with the potion something you could back track on if you didn't like the result.  It's like you saved for years to get your first car blood sweat and patience went into this, your there ready to buy it feeling great.  It's your first car you feel amazing, but hey they say why not try it out as an automatic rather than a stick shift.  Now they warn you there is no going back, but hey its your first car you don't know any better.  So you go for it, really how bad could it be, and boom you find out automatic's suck.  You just wasted years of your life to get something you didn't want, crushed, devastated, robbed.  That's how you would feel, and that's how i felt after i thought hey it may be cool to see how this character looks as a female,  I'll even save so if i don't like it i can jump back.  They wouldnt be mean about this and make the game save right after you drink it nooooo they made to cool a game to be that stupid.  I mean you can save before the final wish and get all three if you want thats cool of them.  FIX IT NOW

Re: Sex Change Potion Was An Outrage

You're overreacting. There are actually plenty of glitched sex potions out there that will fix your problem in a jiffy. I am online right now and have two in my posession. Just message me when you see me online (gamertag: mwcarlson) and I will gift you one (for absolutely nothing). Yes, it works just like the standard one and no it won't mess up your game. You get them by gifting the potion while in the room to another player (preferably a friend) who then gifts it back once you are outside (they have to have completed the quest already of course). Presto, working Potion of Transmogrification. So let me know. -Matt

I should add that the female character actually looks quote svelt if you remove all her Physique. You can reduce the effects of Accuracy too by taking one of those lovel shrinking potions on Knothole. Yes, her melee attacks are pretty tame but she still knocks em' down and then you just run em' through. -Matt

Re: Sex Change Potion Was An Outrage

Maybe you shouldn't have drank the potion in the first place.

Do you, for some reason, have problem with "For every choice, a consequence"?  They've already removed like 2/3 of all the consequences once in the game with DLC, so pretty much every decision concerning your hero (not the world itself) is meaningless now.  Why would you want one of the few remaining consequences to be removed?

The game autosaves after you finish a quest. Every. Single. Time. By the time you're in Castle Fairfax, you should know this, really. If you didn't like the character when you left the tomb, you had the chance to quit before leaving, or escaping to dashboard when the trophy/congratulations screen popped up. Plus you were warned.

The outrage is seeing how many people drank that potion and came on the forum complaining about it. Tired [:tired:]

    Ha! I totally agree.
I've had friends call me up, bitching over it.
    Hilarious, but pathetic, nonetheless.

    This.
I mean seriously IT SAID IT WAS A ONE TIME THING!!!!
Maybe you should try thinking a bit before you drink something and not assume anything like 'Surly there will be a way to reverse it, despite the game telling several times there is not'.

Escaping to the dashboard during an autosave.. sounds like that has a G o o d [Good] chance of permanently fubaring your save.  Don't think I'd risk that myself.. especially since the 360 doesn't have a HDD access light on the front.

Curiosity kills Stick out tongue [:P].. (even more so for those playing without a high speed inet connection for XBL.. they're really screwed).

I read the bottle, said to myself "Ehh... I don't really wanna be a chick." and continued on adventuring without drinking it.

Re: Sex Change Potion Was An Outrage

Oh no, not escaping during the save of course, heh. Save game corruption can actually become hard drive corruption if it's interrupted during file writing. The actual auto-saving doesn't occur until you leave the trophy screen, so if that's still there you can easily jump to dashboard. Kinda like people who get all 3 ending achievements during 1 playthrough.

Right, and isn't that what makes Fable special? Isn't it what all the developers say?
Fable"What will you become" you become something trough choices, and every choice has a consequence just like in real life.
So, I don't get your point.

True, but many people were curious and, apparently from many years of unlimited multiple saves on the PC, didn't stop to use logic and realize that the autosave has been screwing them over since the beginning of the game <queue Carlos Mencia saying "Dee Dee Dee!>.

Did it myself.. it was late, I was overtired and had that stray E v i l [Evil] thought slip in there: "Hm.. I wonder what my hero would look like as a chick?"  Big Smile [:D]

Immediately after drinking it, when the autosave kicked in I thought "Ah, crap".  She was a brutish looking thing, but I chose to make the best of it, slimmed her down, changed her outfit and made one fine looking heroine.  Best of all, I discovered that without all the physique points, swordplay was fun again rather than just hack and slash everything in one or two hits. Smily [:)]

And I stopped reading the post after those three sentences. Wants some cheese with that wine? Lets see... warning label says irreversible and now that you blew off the warning, you want a do over. It's tantamount to "Sticking hand in mulcher will cause amputation". You do it anyway and now you want your hand back. Sigh.

Just roll with it. Did that with my first character. From guy to girl in seconds. Knew it was irreversible though. Must be that reading thing that I picked up in my many years. Funny thing, I've played female characters since.

Wasn't there an audio warning as well?
My first Character I drank the potion. My second character I started as a girl and drank the potion my third character I skipped the potion.

Am I mistaken in thinking that the potion can be exchanged online if you meet someone in that room when they are about to drink it?

If not then we could have a Sex Change Exchange thread for all that want to do it Stick out tongue [:P]

Yes. There's a verbal warning followed by a text warning. They both say the process is irreversible. If the OP has trouble with understanding the meaning of the word irreversible, he should've paused his game and picked up a dictionary. It would've saved him a lot of trouble and a needless rant.

I was quite shocked when I saw a "Fat-Loving, Muscle- Loving, Tranvestite-Appreciating, Quirky" resident at Knothole. Quirky doesn't do it justice.
