    Overlord II

Done a search and all I found was overlord 1 and a poorly thought out overlord 2 thread Hmm [^o)]

So anyway, I played the demo a few days ago, and I've started following it as I did with overlord 1 when I saw atchoo's topic on it last year or the year before, can't quite remember.

I really loved the demo, but I do miss somethings from the first, I don't particulary like the new sound they've put in to recall minions, like the old one, just sounds more E v i l [Evil]. However I do like the new look of the overlord, especially what looks to be fur or something Crazy [] and the hippie nature elves. Big Smile [:D]

I read abit up on wiki, and it says two more are planned; Overlord: Minions is to be released for the Nintendo DS, which is mainly a puzzle game revolving around controlling minions. And Overlord: Dark Legend on the wii.

Also found that Terry Pratchett the author of the discworld series, well his daughter is the writer of the game, along with others she has written are prince of persia, heavenly sword, and mirrors edge.

I'm amazed at this, and well just thought I'd share a half hour craze. Up []

I hope this is enough info to get you guys talkin Hmm [^o)]

The controls are so clunky I felt like I was playing the game with a mouse.

    The cheese munching kind.

I only wrote this because I hate you.

    Re: Overlord II

I had alot of fun with Overlord, I'd have to say that a year or so ago it was always between Fable TLC and Overlord that occupied most of my time. So I'm looking forward to part 2. I have all three versions (360,Wii and DS) reserved on Gamefly so I can rent them all and try them out.

I knew there was a reason why I liked those games ... damnit I'm a Pratchett fan and it doens't seem to matter if it is Terry or his daughter! lol

    Re: Overlord II

I've only played overlord, and a demo of mirrors edge it was cool but couldnt get the hang of the controls. Yeah I'm a pratchett fan now too. Stick out tongue [:P]

Apparantly it isn't just for the money either, shes a video game buff. She's wrote some books on how to write stories for video games. Crazy []

I'm sorta pissed off that dark legend wont becoming to the 360, it sounds quite cool, and I have played the wii, but I dunno if I'd buy it, but maybe just maybe, after all I did buy my xbox1 for kotor, seriously only bought it for kotor. Big Smile [:D] And it ended up taking over ps2 as my fav console.

Hmmm, I do hope we have abit more customization with the dark tower this time, although in the vids it says we can have about 5 or 3 misstresses which makes up for somethings they have left from the first overlord. ^^ [^^]

Edit: and theres no alot of ps3 games I like the look of but heavenly sword is definatly one of em. Up []

    Re: Overlord II

Yeah in the first one you could only choose between Rose or Velvet and then you could have those 10 slave girls walking around the tower. I liked some of their comments, they were funny! I bought a larged HD for my 360, and the Overlord saved games got messed up. I only beat the game once being G o o d [Good] and don't think I ever finished being E v i l [Evil], might have to go back and play it. Might have to put Fable 2 on the shelf for awhile.

Liked the first, havent heared the new sound but the new overlord seems to big IMO, I hope the tower can be customised and they keep the treasury way better than just a little counter.

    Re: Overlord II

Rhianna is a great person and I really love her dialogue. Her script is as witty as her father's but it's still entirely her own style and thing. It's a shame that after Overlord was released she was always referred to as Terry Pratchett's daughter, but she's becoming a well known name herself in the games world, it seems. (Reviews still mention the fact that he's her father, but at least as a footnote now).

Also, on related note, Gnarl's voice is done by Marc Silk, and if I remember correctly he also did the voices for G o o d [Good]y & Baddy in Black & White

    Re: Overlord II

Well what do you guys think of it? Personally I prefered the first personally the graphics seemed better, the story seemed better, the world seemed better and my tower seemed better. But overlord improved greatly on gameplay possessing minions, having mounts for minions and siege weapons. But IMO I liked how the world changed (only the one region) SPOILERS The wasteland was great it wa like oakvale in F2 and seeing the people and environments from the effects of my tower SPOILERS.

    Re: Overlord II

I haven't got it yet, just got back from Tuscany and seen one of my xbl friends playing it which made me wanna get it right then. Stick out tongue [:P] I'm sure Alexisrose will have it by now, she seems to be the Overlord fanatic of LH.

I've been looking at getting a Wii for Dark Legend. Tongue Tied [:S] But I'm sure I'd use it for other games aswell. I'll get it soon, when my money builds back up. Sad [:(]

Sorry for the necro Paranoid [:aranoid:]

But now that the game has been out awhile has anyone played it? I have and I am sorely dissapointed. Stick out tongue [:P] I did expect more but it is just bloody awful!

I'm gonna trade it in, but I want to give it a second chance but ehhhh..... unsure. I'm up to the forest atm just got spider mounts and I just cant see any reason to continue playing yeah its quite funny love how you get people coming before you to request things but it doesnt make up for the actual majority of the game.

    Anyone?

    Re: Overlord II

It was ok, the bit with the spiders on the walls was annoying though.. No reason to play it more than twice, if that.
Has the world ended already? Oh dear, I must have missed it. . .

    Re: Overlord II

I enjoyed it, but I don't think it's a game I'd ever play through again. They seemed to have lost most of the more tactical elements of the first game for using the minions, it's a lesser game for it.
