The Dualist Achievement in Fable 2

This is such an easy and stupid achievement to get, but i didn't get it for so long. I know many of you are having problems too, so.......here's how to do it.

Thanks to a response from Sopdu in another thread, I found out you don't have to be fighting when you do it. If fact fighting increases the difficulty dramatically due to the movement of characters, blocking, etc.

Go to a field or something and swing into the void of space. Hell, I did it in Bowerstone!

I've heard people say equip a hammer or a heavy weapon. I tried a mace, katana, hammer, cutlass and couldn't get it(different timing I'm sure).

Use a Long Sword(I used a master)! I don't know why, but it worked so easy and perfect!

When swinging your sword, at the very end of you swing, hit the button again. if you did it right, the swing trail of your sword will turn blue. Also, you should be swinging relatively slow, you're not "button mashing". It should be like:

*Hit 'A' Button, *1 second pause, *Hit 'A' Button, *1 second pause, *Hit 'A' Button, *1 second pause, *Hit 'A' Button, *1 second pause, *Hit 'A' Button, *1 second pause.

I've heard it take only a chain of 5, but I don't believe the first swing counts. So do it 6 six times.

That's it. Took me about 30 seconds after I equpped the Long Sword and swung at the air.

I did it with a Master long sword as well.  I walked through Bower Lake trying to get the chains to work.  With the experience system rewarding you for variety and brief battles, it was too annoying to try when I was actually in battle. 

It seemed like I had to chain more than 5 as well. I think I either dropped a chain in the middle, or it took a moment for the achievement to register, but it seemed like I swung it about 9 times.

I used the pier on Bower Lake, no interference and your not lunging all over the place.

Damn! I don't know if my game is glitched or what but I just can't pull this one off.  I got into a groove with the Calvera the other night and I swear I got a blue trail on at least a dozen consecutive swings and nothin'. Oh well, all you can do is give it your best shot.

i did this with my master hammer....it was kinda hard....i think this is a really dumb achivement

the concept of getting the duelist achievement is simple, if you're sharp as a nail in terms of reflex time (like me) use a master katana. if you can't do it with that, use a cutlass or a longsword. might i add, i found it really hard to use the master hammer to get it. my timing went to pot...lol

you should have got it, because the minimum is 10 linked attacks, if you got to 20 and still didn't get it, chances are you weren't linking your attacks.

My reflexes must be as sharp as a sloth's (I can confirm I am not on pot ).  I got the Duelist using the Hammerthyst under my wife's GT.  I dunno why this is the 1985 of the original F2 cheevos.

never fear grimes my friend, not everyone can be as adept at combat as i. (if you think thats being big headed, you haven't seen me on saturdays!) lol, and i don't really think its anything to do with reflex, its just finding what weapon you can do the timing best with.

If you can get the Red Dragon, believe me you can get the Duelist Achievement. The goal is to hit the (X) button as soon as your sword gets about 75% through the swing, if you do it immediatly after the swing it will give you the blue streak but not the achievement. I say 75% because you have to take your reflexes into account. If your brain says push on 100% you will push on 125% of the swing....so if your brain says push on 75% chances are you will push on 100%. Your brain processes things fast, but your reflex and muscle contraction could beg a differ. I was playing Assassin's Creed before Fable II, which when you wanted to get the Combo/Chain Attacks, you need to hit (X) immediatly after the swing, which giving that delay time for your human response seems to work best.

true that, mystic wolf. i was playing street fighter 4 before i got the duelist achievement, and a lot of my characters (akuma) new combos have had the timing tweaked, where by, you need to press buttons at specific times, instead of the old mashing system...
