Freezes on the Splash Screen are most often caused by the games copy protection. Use a working crack is the least hassle. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
On the other hand side, make sure you don't have anything running in the background that could cause problems. Windows skin software such as WindowsBlinds or Video codec packs such as K-Lite are common trouble makers for example.
Again and again and again, I can only say that this does have nothing to do with Vista. The game works stable and fluent on Vista! Maybe one needs to run it in administrator mode to give the game some extended file access that it probably needs. The user rights restriction on Vista (or Windows7) is much stricter than it was on WindowsXP and this is why many applications have problems accessing vital parts of the system. Although it is very easy to solve. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)
Last but not least, make sure you fit the minimum system requirements, especially concerning a graphic card that supports Shader Model 1.1 or better. Especially notebook graphic chipsets often cause problems to support this features.
