How many of you have the black Screen when using the movie game that you can hear sounds,music but cant see anything.... How many of you are using media player 10? Winxp Sp2 ? PLEASE DONT MOVE THIS POST MODS/ADMIN we need people to really stand up and shout it out see how many people have this problem

I made another post about this, but I will join you here. I also have this issue, and it's a huge problem, obviously. I've got 100% up to date drivers, and have tried reinstalling the game three times. So, what am I doing wrong? Nothing, as far as I can tell. I agree, it seems to be a 'this game is broken' issue... Oh, and also; SP2, Media Player 10. Thinking about downgrading the Media Player... Any idea if this will work or not?

Yeah ive got exactly the same problem here. Also using media player 10 and xp sp2. Major Problem. Was looking forward to playing this game.

Didnt work, rolled back to media player 9 then installed the latest media player 9 on the cd Here you try http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/wmp10-ar.reg then in start "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Setup_wm.exe" /Uninstall But still didnt work for me

My Specs (and they couldn't be more different) P4 2.93 ghz 1.5gb Ram 160gb Seagate Hard Drive 256mb Radeon X800GT Asus P5GD1-VM motherboard with onboard Realtek HD Sound SP2, WMP10, the usual. Completely up to date drivers etc. The most interesting thing about this is that I thought it was my graphics card or something... Clearly, it's not. So. Yeah.

I had the problem, but updating my graphics driver did it for me. I'm still running media player 10. Well, the game is still not playable for me, but that's how THAT problem got solved.

I installed the game on Wednesday and had that issue. However, when I went to log off that night, I noticed that XP had downloaded the November patches and was just waiting to install them. Once they installed, the problem went away. I'm not sure if it was the pending patch that caused the problem or if the installation of it refreshed my GeForce (6800 GT - PCIe) drivers. The problem did go away, though.

Im using 81.89 which is the latest to be released... i also tried 81.87 still no go, i have all windows updates installs.. still no go never EVER had this problem before

Yep, I've got the exact same problem, it won't run star maker either. My computer exceeds the requirements and I have media player 10 installed.

Well, no actually with starmaker it pops up and says: SM_AVI_RENDER_FAILED_TITLE And with the movies its a white screen, cue windows noise, and a pop up that doesnt pop up, telling me that I need to update media player :/

Well, something really weird has happened, and "msteele" has been magically disassociated with my login. This is msteele, but now my forum name appears to be MaxSteele. So please send a private message here for the black screen troubleshooting assistance.

Not sure if this will help with the black screen, or if all you guys have already tried it. But a full install of media player 10 cleared me right up. Thanks Max

Ive tried all 3 , betas... full... and tweaked its always the easy way out to a game fault

Ive just uninstalled ALL codecs, rolled back to media player 9 and installed from cd then tried media player 9 codecs... still NO GO blank screen and grey screen on starmaker, So ive given up and reinstalled media player 10. Worst Game problem EVER , atleast for me ive never seen anything like it

I've installed the new drivers, reinstalled the game, and I still am getting this. I'm using a top of the line Radeon xt8000. This is dumb.
