day to you all, I've recently became re-acquainted to Black & White. Seeing as other members of Wildman Productions have interest in this game as well, we have decided to begin work on a new simple to use dedicated online matchup system, more news will follow as work progresses.

this is to be the server side program, the program will eliminate the need to know user IP addresses, and test connection functionality to see if ports are configured correctly.

Sorry for the lack of updates this project has been getting, the truth is I havent had a whole lot of interest in it the past few months, however, we are starting things up again and this time we're going to see results.

Update time:

we've gotten the server / client communication working well, now our focus will be turning to setting up game connections.

we've managed to successfully catch and interpret the games connection broadcast, now the last step before an internet test is to disassemble and reassemble the broadcast and send it across the server VLAN

Yeah I'd really like to see such a client!

If it's simple, I bet it will attrack more people to Multiplayer and therefore to  old Black and White.

I wonder if this would be enough to make me dust everything off and try to find my old copy of black and white lol...i have moved like 3 or 4 times since it came out...the question is, would i even have it anymore?!

Looking forawrd to this, all the Hamachi stuff is a bit confusing to me resulting in the fact ive never played multiplayer.

I tried getting the source of bw phoenix from Derobrash to make the hardest part easier.. but i'm tired of waiting so I have disassembled the existing binaries.

I am simply too excited with this upcoming  "Service"

Does that mean its finished and your just checking its working?

I'd do some beta too if it's still needed.

There's still some code to add before it's testable, but nothing complicated.

Your doing a great job, get it done as fast as you can. You will be loved by every black and white player out there! + The multiplayer will be what it used to be like... several games open and more playing!

I am now ready to do some basic game startup testing, and since it would be more trouble to try and setup a logical WAN than its worth, a person or two with some time for beta testing contact me on MSN and we'll get started.
