Absolutely - It's what started it all. It's one of the best games of all time in my opinion and a must-have for any Fable Fan.

I believe the first was superior. One of the reasons is due to a spell that made the game less difficult (it prevented you from receiving damage). There are other reasons, but if I go on explaining them it would not be the same if you experienced it yourself.

Yes Fable 1 was so much better than Fable 2, if you liked Fable 2 then you should love Fable 1.

Fable 2 was a disappointment. The original Fable, get the lost chapters version, is the greatest game ever.

Get TLC. It's a really game, minus the melee combat. My favorite way to play is to be an archer. It is a lot different than fable 2, but in a way. The story and dialog are really , and the character are very memorable. Just talking about it makes me want to replay it again.

I also started with Fable 2.

 

Then, when they released Fable 1 downloadable, I figured I would give it a try.

 

I LOVE it!

Its an awesome game, if you like Fable 2, you'll like Fable 1

 

I do like Fable 2 more though

ah the classic, where I would have armor and a quick-change broght will user set for the villagers. I liked the characters there, they had more of a "life" than in F2.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is in my top three favourite games of all times. It beats Fable 2 with ease and has my personel record of most completions with a game (I have completed it so many times I cannot remember the amount - yet I am still in love with it ).

OMG the first was my favorite and will always be because the game is getting worse Fable 2 dissapointed me. But I have replayed FableTLC several times. If you're getting Fable, get FableTLC (The Lost Chapters)

TLC is an excellent game. I like stuff you can do in F2, but TLC is probably still my favorite. It just has a certain charm that lacks in F2.

The world had more of an immersive feel and sound than the second, there were some fights that were semi-challenging ( whereas the commandant is the only really noticeable boss fight in F2), the "jobs" weren't official, but you could be a trader, a fisherman, or just a champ at a game.  No dog to lead you by the nose, so you felt like an explorer, on your own against the world (unless you hired a merc).  The characters were more immersive (Jack was a real villain, not a deluded nobleman on a construction project).  Your family (sister and mother) actually mattered in the plot.  There are other things, but I won't go on at the moment.

If you can take the step back in technology... It is totally worth it. I think Fable 2 was a huge improvement in some areas of the first. But in The Lost Chapters the controls are better, the will set up is better, and its a bit more difficult.
TLC will give you a lot of historical input from the fable universe.Its pretty awesome in my opinion.
