High expectations, low delivery.  That is what PM and Lionhead have now associated themselves with.

I would not at all be surprised if PM and Microsoft had a nice little sit-down a while ago.

That or he doesn't want the game and is just a forum jocky... but he has a point this thread will be locked for being useless/spam/pointless.. so how about we all stop posting in this thread from now on.

The funny thing is he wasn't even insulting the game he was saying if it was branded something people hadn't heard of nobody would have bought it, which is frankly nonsense since there have been plenty of debut titles that have had incredible sales.

So you guys are defending a game you haven't even played yet?  Rich.

Yes, PM and Microsoft did have a sit-down. It consisted of Microsoft pushing for a release date, thus speeding thing up for Lionhead. Sucks, but that's how it works.

I have the game, played it, and defend it. It's an amazing game. A few minor glitches, but these will be patched. A lot of the major glitches that people mention are just one time glitches.

I respectfully disagree.  I do, however, think if they make Fable 3, they should release absolutely no information about it during development and just let all the info come out in early reviews just prior to release. 

Fact is, both Fable games are games that were hurt by hype and expectation of features that had to be cut or trimmed.  If people were to go into the next one with no expectations, they'd most likely be more happy about it.

I remember hanging on every bit of information about Fable 1 since the early days of Project Ego, and while I was disappointed when F1 was first released, I resolved to enjoy the game for what it was, and it turned out to be a great game in its own right. 

Coming into Fable 2, I would occasionally read info, updates, look at screenshots, but I refused to allow myself to form an opinion or expectations.  I am just playing the game with an open mind, and enjoying it quite alot.  It's fun and it looks great.  That's  the bottom line for me.

Actually, when I first saw this thread, I thought it would have continued with, "If Fable 2 wasn't called, "Fable X" it would have been accepted as a masterpiece..." or whatever.

I think alot of the crap this game is getting has to do with people being bitter about Fable.  That's the only reason I see people say stuff like, "LH and PM lied again!"  I have yet to see one thing that shows they lied about a feature.

Another thing-

Pick any game in the world and you can find flaws in it.  There is no perfect game.  I get the feeling that you don't go to the forums of other developers whose games you own and *** about the stuff that's broken, etc.

The fact that the game has an excellent story is more then enough reason for people to buy it.   Its not like with Halo and how everyone who got a xbox automaticly got it (mind you I find FPS very boring these days)... I seriously hope Lionhead uses the right to tyhe Fable franchise to make a Fable Movie... hell they already have an excellent cast of voice actors... do it 3d or something. any way thats getting off topic

Even if it was called "rodgering the handmaiden" I would still buy the game because it is the imagry an story that drives me on in a game... people who dont appreciate thuis level of gamming are im my humble opinion not true gamers... Even my partner who doesn't play games loves the game... mind you she made sure to remind me that if I didn't make certain choices while playing my character I was to be sleeping on the couch and my daughter stormed off when I didn't do what she wanted me to do in one plot choice section.

mind you Ive been playing PM games since Populus so hey think what you will.
