By the same token the title of this topic is lagging under Vista therefore I don't think many people would consider using DX10 cards if they PC is quite old and only able to run BnW2 under XP. Like I said, Vista is quite hungry for high end stuff but you'd really only to improve RAM and perhaps the Video card(256 or more) along with a moderate ...

I know what your problem is here. Vista has been designed to take a hold of the latest and greatest hardware but there is one simple thing to know and that is that you must have a powerful machines to run Vista.
I can see from the hardware specs that there is no way Vista can run while playing BnW2 using an old P4 processor and 1.5GB RAM. Vista ...

Hey, as a fellow Vista user, I can say that the unlocker will not work at all on Vista and neither does BoTG unless you have dual-boot which has the capability of installing Vista while XP is still on there, if so then the best bet would be to run the unlocker while in XP otherwise there's nothing you can do until Microsoft release SP 1 for Vista ...

You are right, there is no true gain with a Quad Core but the 2 remaining cores usually are used to backup the first two cores that play the game to ensure that FPS drops don't occur in which they don't. But playing the game at higher resolutions with some of these specs will not deterioate gameplay performance because the PC is able to sustain the

The most reasonable and obvious thing to know is that Vista requires a very powerful PC to run(Home Premium and above) to be able to use Windows Aero and play BnW2 because Vista takes alot of RAM to run (about 1GB for Home Premium) along with BnW2 using 512 MB RAM.

Although it is too easy requirements for XP, Vista certainly needs this or more to run BnW2 and Windows Aero(and I know this because I have Vista Home Premium 64-bit).

Yeah, Pentium 4 HT. But of course I think it would be best to set affinity to using 2 cores over 4 when playing BnW2.
But setting these requirements are what from I have tested thus far to be the most stable, lag-free components. I had a Pentium D and it was slow as hell with BnW2 especially on my old custom maps like Greenpatch which is ...

Do you have all the games patches installed? I have a PC with a Quad Core and I've had no problems so far.
Do you have the latest drivers for your video card, the Radeon HD cards would work but having the latest drivers helps because it includes fixes for Radeon HD cards for games like BnW2.

quaseman:More or less I would say.
The CPU requirements are certainly lower while the graphic requirements are higher or need to be made more precisely than in your description. As a CPU an AMD Athlon64 3800+ may already be sufficient. Maybe a dual core CPU would be too. For a graphic card capable of maximum detail check out this list. ...

I've noticed that alot of people have performance issues with BnW2 and despite what the recommended requirements are, the game still gives people issues with performance since it is graphic intensive.
I've done some research and here's what I believe will achieve max performance.
OS: Windows XP(with SP2)/XP x64/VistaCPU: Intel Core 2 Duo ...
