Well, for me it only happened if I pressed Alt + Tab to get in/out of the window. Refrain from doing that, and the text usually remained fine (For me).

I find Slowing Time, running down to the jetty and fighting the enemies there is a good tactic.

Well, in one of my files I managed to collect all the bandits from the entire bandit camp and attacked Oakvale. But I was pure evil in that file.

Beserk, Multi-strike, Assasins rush and Battle Charge. Perfect for fighting things with high health.

I like a fully Maximised Fireball. In my most recent file, I managed to acheive this before the Wasp Queen quest, which made my life a lot easier.

I like the Assasin's outfit with the hood. Too bad you can't use a hood... although a Bandit Bandanna is pretty cool with the assasin suit.

Giving the teacher different books seems to give you a different aligned hat, it seems. I gave the teacher most of the 'evil' books, and I got a Dark Wizard hat.
