• Re: Over Population and a Question of Ethics

Amaunator, so all you need me to do is solve the energy, food, and resource issues for an overpopulated Earth within 100 years? Is that all? The plan as presented would therefore have to be fully implemented, world-wide -- every country, in the same time frame. I'm as skeptical of that as you are of the ability of science to solve them

  • Re: Over Population and a Question of Ethics

Before I can even comment on this plan, I first have to mention that I don't agree with the assumptions made (that we're unable to solve the energy and resource issues, and that we won't be able to colonize other planets in time).Second, I should also mention that, as a libertarian, I view this master plan as entirely tyrannical. That should ...

  • Re: HD Exporting

If I had to guess, I'd say that the frame rate you've chosen is causing the problem. All of the existing profiles use 30 fps. You can always use an external editor to reduce it down to 24.Maybe make a little test movie, one scene long. Test your existing profile with it. Then test it with the same resolution / quality at 30 ...

  • Re: The Movies Review Archive - Capturing 3 years of TMO history

Welcome all. I know I didn't want to lose my reviews, so I figured plenty of others would feel the same. I have everything stored on my machine in a database. So I'll be running some fun queries for things like ''highest review count'', and so forth, and tacking that stuff onto the site when I have some time.

  • The Movies Review Archive - Capturing 3 years of TMO history

Presenting a little walk down memory lane...The Movies Review ArchiveAbout 3 weeks prior to the closing of The Movies Online, a little web crawler busily began scouring the site to rescue every movie description and review that it could. The above web site is the result.Just click on the first letter of your studio name (or ''Other'' if your ...

Yep, I'd say Del's got it:''The Movies and Stunts & Effects'' for the base forum.Sub-forums for:''Mod Showcase''''Movie-Making'' (formerly Online Community; maybe some other name)''Your Movies''I think that most represents the way people will continue to use these forums. We may not be linking to movies on TMO anymore (in the Your Movies ...

  • Re: I think its Time to ask Lionhead for the Modding Tools..

If not some of the proprietary / internal tools, then perhaps further technical details on some of the file formats used by The Movies. A lot of work has been put into figuring these out, and some have been resolved (such as the costume (*.cos) and mesh (*.msh) formats). But details on the scene (*.flm) and animation (*.anm) formats are

  • Re: If The Prop Shop Goes I Won't Be Able To Load Old Games After Reinstall

Woody:It's a point but we won't be able to keep the Prop Shop. Maybe, but this is a real maybe, we'll be hosting a .zip file with all the prop shop files in it.Biggs mentioned it, but perhaps it's worth repeating...If you were to just reset the VC cost of all prop shop items to zero, I'm sure one of the many fansites would be more than happy to ...
