I find it highly amusing that their mistake is not an issue of urgency. How long does this thread have to go on before you get a straight answer from someone who can restore your movie? Scratch should not have been scratched without communicating with you if the movie was dubious in any way. Hmm.

You can do all that stuff previously mentioned for precise editing, or if you're lazy, you can just make a silent section and jam it into the end of every piece you want to fade out.
