Not all weapon parts should be interchangeable. I could see sword-like weapons(katana, cutlass, longsword, and possibly cleaver) and Axe-like weapons(clubs and axes) being a line to draw. You probably shouldn't be able to mix heavy and light weapons, either.I would expect the parts to clip through each other a little; my character had his clothes ...

I think that the main problem with a lot of RPG's is that very little happens after you beat the game(Exceptions exist. Pen and paper D&D can last for a while.). Maybe the yare giving you more to do.
