I've tried to re-install windows media player from the CD, but that didn't go either, it said that I had the wrong OS-version. Is it any other possibilities...?

For some hours ago, the game worked perfectly, but then, when I was going to play it now, it came up an error saying ''missing windows media component.'' Wtf does that means? I'm really frustrating now and I don't know what to do. It has always worked perfectly for me. If somebody knows what to do, please tell me! -Thanks
