I'd have to see a screenshot to be sure, but I think Edanc is right. The ''silver lines'' are most likely scars, which are silvery-pale. Will lines would glow blue.

Trying not to spoil anything, there are two points in the game where you have a dream-ish sequence in which you become a child. There's a glitch that when you come out of either of these dreams, your age (and possibly your scars, I've heard but not checked that) will revert to where it was when you were a young adult.

I'm pretty sure you can still donate to the Temple of Light if it's destroyed. The little pot you donate to should still be in the ruins.

For the yellow orbs, just tap Y, your character should automatically target them as long as they're in your weapon's range.

Most people are pretty sure Lionhead is planning downloadable add-ons. My guess would be that they weren't satisfied with accessory augments and decided to remove them, but leave in the coding for future addition.

I think having a childhood period goes perfectly with the overall game. It makes you feel attached to your character by having you play their back story instead of simply being told or left to assume anything, and the story of your developing hero is the whole point of the game. Sure it's a bit tedious after you've played through it a couple times,
