Do you have a cooling fan? Because I have a cooling fan, and after a few hours, or if the table where the xbox is gets tapped, the plug in the back seems to not be giving enough energy to the xbox, and so it shuts off by itself. If you do have a cooling fan, try playing without it, unless you know you are going to play for a long time.
