I was having the same problem, had the quest where i had to find my wife then save my kid in the hobbe caves. I had alex as my wife, and we had castle fairfax as our marital home. Come On Lionhead!!! Even with the January patch people are still having this exact problem. Please fix it! This is really annoying.!!!!

All hope is lost to recover from this, the patch that was released last night did NOT fix this problem. I load to a black screen and the xbox freezes up still. Was going to buy knothole island if that was fixed, now i dont want to give them any more of my money.
Looks like i wont be buying any more of lionhead games.

Lord_Palmerston:I managed to do a Save and Quit multiple times before with no issues. My big Black Screen o' Death moment went down as the game autosaved following my quitting a bartending job.

After doing some playing around in it to test how to get the no load save to happen again. It seems to happen with the ''Save and Quit'' feature, i was doing save and continue, turning the xbox off, loading several times, then did a save and quit, and got the horrid black screen of death on loading my game. I completely agree, it is just not logical to have a single save file, need to have seperate autosaves vs regular saves. I tried today getting a new disk that didnt help either. The GameStop said they had lots of people exchangings discs for a new one. I started over cross my fingers i can get through it this time, lost over a million gold though. ...

Tried clearing the cache, Did NOT work. Putting FableII back in the box until something is done. Waste of time to start over, that or sell the freakin game on e-bay.
Screen comes up with the gears saying Loading WestCliffe, and blank, nada zilch. No responese even to dashboard.

i get a ''black screen of death'' after loading a saved game. I saved just before going into the crucible. Dont know what to do. I do NOT want to start over.
