First time I played, there were no major glitches.  Lady Grey disappeared, kinda ticked me off, but that was about it.

For the archaeologist quest, if you go to the region where the thing is, a ghost of your dog appears and if you can follow him fast enough, he leads you right to it.  His ghost also came for that demon door where you need your dog to do tricks.  I haven't found the las thing for the quest though.
