• Game Designer Questions

I've done a bit of research on the subject of game design, including the resources listed in the Getting a Job in the Games Industry thread, but it still leaves some questions unanswered. Game designer seems like a pretty broad category. Just how specialized do you become within this career? What particularly interests me is the character and plot ...

  • Re: Project NATAL.

I like the idea of where natal, and the games industry is headed. I liked natal better than Sony's motion controller for 1 main reason. Video games have always been about pushing the bar in interactivity. While I admit, Sony's motion controller would have a more practical application to begin with and will definitely be more precise, natal is ...

  • Re: ps3 or 360

To satansmunchkin: Again, what you say about the games being more refined is a matter of opinion. There is no real way to back up this claim. I do have a Wii, and most of the games are, indeed, for kids. And it is outselling both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Hence, the ''mass appeal factor''. It appeals to the parents by being cheap and ...

to satansmunchkinMicrosoft hasn't really tried to ''stop Sony in its tracks''. Microsoft wants money, and its getting a lot more of it than Sony is. As a business, they are succeeding, and as a game company, they are as well, so I don't know exactly what you mean with that.As for the Xbox live vs. PSN, live isn't worth what you pay for it. But for ...

Lol, i think i came off as a bit of a 360 fanboy. So let me clarify. I like the PS3 a lot. I will buy one when i have the money. I just like the games on the 360. My friend has a PS3 so i've seen it in action and I've played it.(and i do think live is better than PSN. still not worth what i pay for it, but its better.) They are both pretty equal, ...

to everything satansmunchkin said-Its better for gaming because it has more games and better games. Ultimately it does come down to preference, but if you look at at a side by side comparison of the ratings of PS3 games and and 360 games, the 360 games have more higher rated games(just by a bit). ive played MGS4 and i would love to have it. I

  • Re: ps3 or 360

Personally I think the 360 is better for gaming while PS3 is better for multimedia stuff. . I also think the 360 t has a better game lineup. It has a better gpu and better online, even if its not free. its a ''you get what you pay for'' situation. both consoles have their issues. if you get a 360, get a new one. They newer ones have ...

  • Xbox 360 vs. PS3

lol. probably a lot of these topics around that people r probably sick of it. just wondered what people thought about it now. Don't cite old issues or whatever. just what you think comparing them now. Which do you think is better and why. please no fanboy posts and keep it civil. I'm just curious to see why. feel free to argue. it makes it ...
