  • Re: Alice 3.0 Software

ashhadk:Yea i have used Alice 3.0 since I study in Carnegie Mellon and quite honestly it is brilliant. The graphics are excellent and its quite easy to use as well.Pwetty pwease tell me it's better than old Alice. I had to use that for a programming class and the interface was atrocious, the 3D model manipulation and collision aspects were great, ...

  • Re: Help with Programming Language

C++ is the industry standard right now, however it is not the only language you need to know. The most important things to learn seem to be:C++C#A scripting language, oftentimes LUA, Python, PERL, and/or Ruby (and Actionscript depending on if you want to try Flash games or not). However, many engines come with their own scripting languages (i.e. ...

  • Re: 7 BILLION$......IS IT ENOUGH?

satansmunchkin: Lord_Terrible:I don't know how you people count large numbers, but it would make more sense for 700,000,000,000 dollars to be 700 billion or 0.7 trillion, a billion being a thousand million, and a trillion being a thousand billion.I'm english, 700,000,000,000 to me is:Seven Hundred Thousand Million.A billion in England is a million

  • Re: So what's the most beautiful looking game you've played so far?

I'm particularly fond of Wind Waker, I know it's not technically impressive, but I just really, really like they way the did the Cel Shading in that, I think it's beautiful. But Zelda in general is as well. Another contender is Eternal Sonata, which was visually stunning, but had some clipping issues that vaguely annoyed me.

  • Re: Lionhead Community = friendliest?

ProfYaffel: Yacolt: Some of them are just awful, really nasty people. I agree, bastards... We're a nice bunch really, but sometimes we have to be a little harsh on some posters to keep the forums being as nice as they are. Most see where they have made a mistake and change for the better, improving the comunity more. Some don't and to be ...

  • Re: Full Time Game Testing.

Joke topic? Given your join date and the benefit of the doubt on your sincerity, we've done this before. The search feature is well known crap, but you should read the first page. We've done this twice within a few threads of this one, you may want to read them for some ...

  • Re: Games Design Universities?

Digipen in Washington USA wins the independent game festival Every. Freaking. Year. Nintendo also seems to love them something fierce. Not to mention the people that made Narbacular Drop were hired straight out of college by Valve (who I think approached them even) to make Portal. It's definitely worth checking out at least. Billith:Well there are ...

  • Re: The End of the world?

TheKaiser:Well, I know that when they were comparing Revelations (supposedly written by a John) and the Gospel of John to work out whether the two authors were the same person, the big argument against the ''Same Author'' view was that the two books had very different quality of Greek and Revelations used a different Greek word for ''Lamb''. That ...

  • Re: Obama is not the right man for president

XSOLARX:Guess what forms the base of a healthy Democracy, eh? Makes one think. Or at least, it should. But it's not a Democracy, democracies quickly devolve into despots (in theory, I don't think anyone has ever tried a full on democracy) because nothing can get done. It's a Constitutional Federal Republic with Democratic Influences.(Yeah, I agree
